Suspense
A body is found in the middle of a cornfield in Nebraska. Detective Mackenzie White is on the case. All the men are intimidated by her. She is pretty and young. She is good at thinking outside the box and most of the men are older and are stubborn with their old school police work. Not only does she not have the support of her department, but her family also is a mess and doesn't really have anything to do with her and her boyfriend is a man child that doesn't want to move forward with life or the relationship. She believes this a serial killer so the FBI is called to help. It was a good read. Nothing to write home about. It's a typical murder mystery. I would recommend it to someone who wants a short read or is new to thrillers and murder mysteries.

Engaging Read
This book has it all; mystery, romance and suspense. It kept me so engaged that before I knew it I was turning the last page. For me, the pace went by way too fast but honestly, it is a well-paced read with beautiful characters and swoon-worthy moments that had me oohing and aahing. I believe that readers both young and old will find this to be a delightful read.-YA/NA Book Divas

Premise
If you want something to make you think
If you like mystery and suspense a bit of fantasy this series is for you. You will be kept wondering all through this series and its hard to describe without giving things away. However I will say that its a beautiful story and great premise the actors play there characters well and the characters have been well thought through. The series has one of my Favorite actors in it that's Jason Isaccs and his character is nothing but brilliant again i cant talk to much without giving it away but I highly recommend.

I love a mystery that wastes no time with setup and has me in suspense from page 1, and Between Good and Evil did just that. It took a bit to catch on to what was happening in Auburn Notch, but that’s not a bad thing. The reader is left to piece things together as the story unfolds just as the characters are, and there is a lot going on. The characters are well formed and the descriptions very detailed. This was a good first installment, and I’ll be watching for more Promise Flynn.

NOTE: I received a free copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.
