Roxanne (13 KP) rated Naomi's Room in Books
Nov 14, 2018
One of the most confident 5 star ratings I have given so far! This has to be one of the greatest ghost stories I have read in a long time, full of suspense and shocking twists and turns! I highly recommend this novel to horror fans, I just didn't want to put it down. This is one story that will stay on my mind for a while.

Kelsey (4 KP) rated Ready Player One in Books

Wow! This novel deserves all the hype it gets. It's manages to be incredibly magical in such a sci-fi world, yet still remaining relatable. The characters are beautifully rounded and strong. The one downside is, if you have very little knowledge of 80's pop culture references, you may find yourself lost in this one.

David McK (3562 KP) rated 2010: Odyssey Two (Space Odyssey, #2) in Books
Jan 30, 2019
More a sequel to the film version of 2001 than the novel version (although the two are closer than usual), I found it slightly jarring to begin with. This is because, where the two version of 2001 differ, Clarke has taken the film version of events as canon, rather than his own.
It is worth reading, but perhaps not back to back with 2001!

David McK (3562 KP) rated Ill Wind (Weather Warden, #1) in Books
Jan 30, 2019
The first book in Rachel Caine's Weather Warden series, this is probably best described as the novel equivalent of a road-movie, starting (as it does) with it's protaganist already on the run, and following her journey.
The book is pretty fast moving, with the reasons for Joanne Baldwin being on the run gradually revealed throughout. Think I will be reading some more of these!

Deborah (162 KP) rated The Boleyn King (Boleyn Trilogy, #1) in Books
Dec 21, 2018
An historical entertainment more than a traditional historical novel, this imagines that Anne Boleyn had a son, ergo she wasn't discarded and her son became king on the decease of Henry VIII. Potentially I thought this might be very, very bad, but actually it was pretty well written and entertaining, A few odd Americanisms in there ("visit with" etc.), but overall better than I expected.

Hana Clark (19 KP) rated Interview with the Vampire (1994) in Movies
Nov 13, 2019
Action packed, intense, memorable characters
Based on Anne rice 1976 novel its focuses on Louis speaking to a reporter about his life. Absolutely one of the best vampire movies of all times Tom cruise and Brad Pitt were incredible actors they could not of picked any better. Exactly what I would expect a vampire to be like weird, action packed, suspense, pain, intense, love. A MUST watch

AT (1676 KP) rated Twenty-One Truths About Love in Books
Dec 12, 2019
This novel was nothing that I was expecting. I just expected another light love story, but this book turned out to be a very enjoyable, often funny read. The fact that it was written as lists was also interesting, because the story really came together, even though the details were in short lists of information. I really had a good time reading this book!

James Koppert (2698 KP) rated The Last in Books
Mar 5, 2020
The Last was a blast
There has been nuclear bombings in all major cities leaving this hotel full of people in remote Switzerland alone. What will the survivors do to survive in a world where the rules no longer apply? Add deep reflection, neccesity for awakened self discovery, cannabalism, a murder mystery and the hint of the paranormal and you have a deep and enthralling imaginative novel.
