What if women could find a way to teach men how to behave properly? Well, Eric Garcia (yes, a man) came up with one idea, and he wrote about it long before the #MeToo movement. This novel has been called “Sex and the City meets Misery,” as well as a “brilliantly twisted take on chick lit,” and you can see what I think of it in my review here. https://tcl-bookreviews.com/2013/12/14/teaching-men-manners-is-no-laughing-matter/

The tagline for Liv Constantine's psychological thriller "The Last Mrs. Parrish" is, "Some women get everything. Some women get everything they deserve." This is the story of Amber, who comes from poverty, and her decision to change all that by stealing the handsome Jackson Parrish away from Daphne, the gorgeous woman who seems to have it all. The premise of this book was to invent or create a diary written by Mary Pinchot, a woman who was apparently one of JFK's lovers, whose murder is unsolved to this day. Wolfe is a marvelous writer, and his prose is beautiful. However, I'm not sure that he carried it off completely. Find out what I liked and didn't like in my #bookreview of this novel on my blog here. https://tcl-bookreviews.com/2020/02/21/a-sheepish-pseudo-autobiography/

Everything
I loved watching this film as a kid, and still do. I've never compared this movie to the novel, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
Gene Wilder was perfect as Willy Wonka, his sarcasm is tops. The songs are one of the best parts, accept Cheer Up Charlie, that song is boring. I always fast-forwarded the video tape to pass over it.
I believe this movie has held up through the ages, and will always be superior.

I have never really been into science fiction novels, steering more toward fantasy. Enders game was probably the first science fiction book I've read and I was so impressed. The idea of video gamers being chosen for war is brilliant and the development of all the characters is very intriguing. The psychology used on the kids is fascinating, brutal and so effective its scary. Loved delving into this novel and hope one day theres a film that is actual worth it.

Overall, this was a great read. Some parts were completely terrible while others were absolutely fantastic. I would only reread parts of this novel as certain stories are better than the others but all in all, it’s a 4 star read.

Type: Stand-alone/ multiple short stories contained in one book

Interests: Witchcraft, Short Stories, LGBTQ+, Romance, Family, Multiple POV’s.

Point of View: Multiple of different characters

Audience/ Reading Level: 14+ as there are some serious scenes that are a bit more mature.

Chilling Thought provoking Great read Quick read (0 more)
Gread read
This is the first book I have read from this author, I'll definitely look into more from him. The suspense the story as a whole is great. The twist and turns challenge the morals and ethics of the different characters involved. The ending shocked me, so much that I had to reread a few chapters. Great novel the suspense will have you hooked in the first few chapters. I couldn't put it down.
