Watched last night it's okay I liked it alot I remember when the graphic novel came out what if superman was raised in Russia and become a communist version of superman which I thought was a good concept for a comic book Now I've watched the animated movie it's just as I pictured it to be I liked the way the story took characters like bat man wonder woman and slightly change them to what were used to from them overall not bad movie

Seskis is a master at weaving her plot and creating twist after twist, and the ending was a sublime surprise that had been supremely disguised in the rest of the novel. I imagine that deception and secret keeping are amongst Seskis' talents! This is not just a story with a twist though, but handles emotion with empathy and artistry and I genuinely grew to care for and grieve with the characters. A great fun read that kept me page turning right to the end with gripping eagerness.

"Akira Kurosawa made films covered in rich tapestries of Japanese history and charged with terrible violence and drama. Yet here, the contemporary and confined world of a rich industrialist (Toshiro Mifune) who is faced with an overwhelming decision is spare, cold, and objective in the extreme. Hideo Oguni, who worked on seven Kurosawa films, including Seven Samurai, wrote the screenplay based on an Ed McBain novel. Mifune, once again, shows why he is the Japanese Marlon Brando, Edward G. Robinson, and Gregory Peck rolled into one."

Sadly this was the first High Republic book I chose to read. A) This author was probably the reason the entire project was pushed back B) The author is repulsive, and C) I am never reading anything else by her, and I wish she wasn't working on this project at all.
The characters were boring. This was a bog-standard middle grade novel that I could have written myself.
It was actually so unremarkable, that I barely remember anything about it. That says enough.
