The third novel in this series but can be read as a standalone, Lord of Night was a lovely read. I adore historical romances and I particularly enjoyed that the hero of this story wasn't a duke (or something similar...)

I don't have much to say about this book other than I enjoyed it. They characters felt more dynamic than the cut and paste characters you read in other historical romances. The H/h had a sweet slow romance the naturally developed over times. It was a pleasure to read with a HEA that will leave the ready content.

I honestly found this book uninteresting and frustrating. It was boring at best and the only reason I continued was to finish the novel to get to Twin of Fire. Not only that but the characters were frustrating to the point that I almost threw the book. Jude Deveraux seemed to have make her characters so dense and ignorant that they didn't understand something that was continually and blatantly said to them. I couldn't imagine people that dense. Had I known this book was going to be the way it was, I would have never started it.

So I received this book because I thought it the idea behind it was interesting. I mean the girl voices her sex dreams about her neighbor in her her sleep, and he can hear all of it. I actually thought this would be a great erotic novel.

Alas, I was bored to tears. The characters were obnoxious and everything that could remotely be considered interesting happened within the first 50 pages. After a certain point, I literally could not force myself to read on. I skimmed the rest of the book and realized that nothing interesting happens. No loss.

An impressive directorial debut from Ben Affleck, I really like The Town as well which he directed and starred in. Based on a novel by Dennis Lehane he also wrote @Mystic River (2003) which was a great entertaining if gritty and harsh film. This has many similar themes running through it. The cast is an amazing line up and all give good performances. It's the harshness, grim reality in terms of the setting, characters and subject matter that make the film intriguing as well as compelling viewing. A very interesting film, go and see it and Mystic River!

I fell in love with the TV adaptation. The cast, the chemistry, the journey and the incredible, breathtaking setting made me desperate to visit Scotland. Now, having finally read the novel, my love and admiration for the series has grown. My desire to see Scotland and visit all the places Claire visited has only strengthened. And of course, my love for Jamie Fraser is greater. Not that it was difficult. He's a marvel! I absolutely loved Outlander. I loved every word. Truly, it was impossible to put down. I can't wait to read Dragonfly in Amber!

Finn is having very strange and vivid dreams that find him in the Magic Kingdom of Disney World. Turns out it’s a side effect of his status as a holographic host. And he and the other hosts must figure out a way to stop an evil that is spreading through the park. I must admit the most characters were rather weak and plot had a couple big holes. But, Disney fanatic that I am, I couldn't put this young adult novel down.

Not a classic, but certainly an enjoyable mystery novel. First in a rather large series (up to 12 books now, I think) featuring Deborah Knott. Deborah, the so-called bootlegger's daughter, is an attorney in a small North Carolina town. As often happens in such series, crime seems to follow her wherever she goes. In this book, she looks to solve a cold case murder that occurred when she was very young... and her investigation leads to several more deaths.

Margaret Maron's books are quite engaging and fun-to-read... I blew through this book in a few days.

I expected this book to be a lot scarier. Especially with all of the creepy pictures. But unfortunately, it fell flat. The parts that were supposed to be suspenseful didn't always work with the rest of the story. There were a lot of instances of the phrases that are in so many YA books. "I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding" or "She wasn't like other girls" kind of things. Those plot points make reading the novel not as fun for me. I am not saying it was a bad book, but it could have been so much better.

I was pleasantly surprised by this book. I did not know what I was expecting when I picked up this novel. When I had heard so many people talk about it, I was skeptical about if I would like it or not. I ended up loving it. I felt like I was in Alina's shoes. I felt every emotion with her. Whether it was the loss or the elation or the betrayal, I was there every step of the way. I can't wait to be able to get the next book and read it! Great job Ms. Bardugo!

We get it, Karou and Akiva must suffer, but do they have to suffer *that* much? Just let them be together already (0 more)

After three books of radically different story telling with amazing, intelligent, and interesting characters, I was ready for this book to end about 100 pages before it did. By the end of the novel, I felt that the Stelian plot was stretched a little too thin, and I would've have been happy enough to see Karou and Akiva fly off to resurrect her people ... screw the Stelians.
