MusicCritics (472 KP) rated Concrete And Gold by Foo Fighters in Music
Oct 3, 2017
Concrete and Gold is an apt title. The hard rock is still there but finally there’s a bit of a shimmer and glow, something the band absolutely needed lest they continue treading water. It’s a career-capper as unexpected as it is welcome.

GameCritics (290 KP) rated Total War: Warhammer II in Video Games
Oct 4, 2017
There’s not as much progress as I’d have liked to see in the politics and diplomacy systems, which show only modest improvements. But each of the four factions is a distinct and fun-to-play addition to the growing roster.

Katherine McIntyre (105 KP) rated Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017) in Movies
Oct 6, 2017
I know I'm in the minority here, but I felt the pacing of the front half was slow, and Drax's character had completely changed for no given reason. A lot of the unique aspects of the original that I enjoyed were over-exploited in this one, and the heavy handedness kept the humor from hitting the way it did in the first.

GameCritics (290 KP) rated XCOM 2 in Video Games
Oct 10, 2017
Every choice, every death and every shot feels like it counts in XCOM 2 and it is this feeling of real consequence that makes for a truly remarkable strategy game - one that goes beyond its clever design decisions

MusicCritics (472 KP) rated The Bigger Artist by A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie in Music
Oct 12, 2017
Normally on albums that incorporate a revolving door of rap’s most well-known producers, like The Bigger Artist does, he result is a project without a clear identity, but A Boogie managed to avoid that

MusicCritics (472 KP) rated Goats Head Soup by The Rolling Stones in Music
Oct 12, 2017
Sliding out of perhaps the greatest winning streak in rock history, the Stones slipped into decadence and rock star excess with Goats Head Soup, their sequel to Exile on Main St. This is where the Stones' image began to eclipse their accomplishments

MusicCritics (472 KP) rated Exile on Main St. by The Rolling Stones in Music
Oct 12, 2017
First thought on hearing this cleaned-up edition of the most notoriously dirty album in rock history: “Oh, good, I can finally understand the words.” Second thought: “Oh, wait—I don’t want to understand the words.”

Movie Critics (823 KP) rated Barracuda (2017) in Movies
Oct 12, 2017
This narrative tension, not-so-subtly conveyed at one point by the prolonged imagery of an array of knives hanging on a kitchen wall, sustains your interest in Barracuda, even when the screenplay goes off the rails a bit in the shaky third act

Dean (6927 KP) rated You're Next (2013) in Movies
Oct 13, 2017 (Updated Oct 13, 2017)
Something original
I remember seeing this at the cinema, what starts out as a simple plot does turn out to be more entertaining. I think the only problem I had was I worked out the twist quite early on, so it became quite predictable after that. Still an enjoyable film though and quite funny in places.

Movie Critics (823 KP) rated BMP (Beats Per Minute) (2017) in Movies

It’s a compelling feature about love, life and friendship which can be compared to David France’s 2012 documentary How To Survive A Plague, about ACT UP in the United States.
