Hayley Hornibrook (48 KP) rated Innocent Traitor in Books
Jul 6, 2018
Alison is my favourite historical author - her characters are as close to their true stories as fiction can possibly allow them to be. She can get inside the time period and their heads to take the reader on an emotional and exciting journey. It is the plight of Tudor women she does this with best; and the two books about Anne Boleyn and Lady Jane Grey are my favourites. I have loved devouring her books - easy reads and original twists.

Dork_knight74 (881 KP) rated Game Over, Man! (2018) in Movies
Aug 9, 2018 (Updated Aug 9, 2018)
This Netflix original action comedy stars the comedic trio from "Workaholics". The cinematography was good. The acting and storyline was pretty much what you'd expect from this group. There is some sexual and drug use content and a few gross violence scenes so this one really isn't for kids. If you're into "weird and goofy" comedies you'll enjoy this one. There are quite a few familiar comedic faces, as well. I'd say it's worth a watch if you're REALLY bored.

Robinlb (5 KP) rated Logan (2017) in Movies

Great Movie, Great Send Off
Everyone knows this is the end of Wolverine and Hugh Jackman's last round at the role. It sort of dampens the mood of the whole film. Still the surprises, twists, and turns are worth it. This is an excellent movie, probably my favorite since the original. And in the end, it is definitely emotional and worth every minute you've invested in the XMen galaxy.

Erika (17789 KP) rated Robin Hood (2018) in Movies
Nov 21, 2018 (Updated Mar 25, 2019)
I thought this new iteration of Robin Hood was going to be awful, much like @King Arthur: Legend Of The Sword (2017) . BUT, I was pleasantly surprised. I was entertained throughout, and the action was good. The film didn't stray far from the original bones of the story, which was a good thing. Taron Egerton did well as Robin, and, Ben Mendelsohn is completely menacing. I won't be surprised if this film isn't a lot of people's jams, but I still completely enjoyed it.

KatyShubo (75 KP) rated The Masked Singer in TV

So seeing reviews of this on Facebook from my US friends and seeing clips on YouTube has blown my mind. I am invested, who is behind the masks? We may have spent more time than sensible discussing this but this is a great fun concept.
It’s dragging out far too long on US screens (the original did it better) but the only really question now is....
When and where will it air in the UK

Devetaki (76 KP) rated The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim PSVR in Video Games
Dec 29, 2019 (Updated Dec 29, 2019)
Even Better than the Original!
I didn't think any of the Elder Scrolls could get better, then Skyrim VR was released. While many argue that there were too many re-releases or Skyrim (and that may be true), I have to say that I am happy this one was done. As a Elder Scrolls fan, the opportunity to truly immerse myself in the game world was a welcome change. The VR experience added depth and challenge to my time playing.

JUMPCUT ONLINE (77 KP) rated Midsommar (2019) in Movies
Jul 4, 2019
A ruthless air of disquietude pervades Ari Aster’s works; whether it be the taboo-shattering relationship at the core of The Strange Thing About The Johnsons, or the inexorable, chest-clutching dread of Hereditary post-lamppost. He has a knack for excavating the soul, it seems. Aster is keener on what goes bump in the head, not the night – and his sophomore daymare, Midsommar, is a fiercely original, unforgettably perverse work of genius.

New take
Darker but intriquing
Totally different take on much loved characters from Sabrina the Teenage Witch. Strangely enough, this version seems more realistic to me than the original. Plus it addresses issues that have developed since the first "nice" version. Love it so far. Sometimes the acting is not so great and the lighting can be dark which, while fitting, does make it hard to see what's going on.

Writing
Fresh, original, well written possibly the best thing on Netflix
the the trailer for this show looked overly cheesy shockingly campy and awfully teeny...
It’s all those things and so much more, god damn I’m hooked on this show. The writing is so so clever and it plays to all of its strong suits hitting every single beat and mark with such gleeful pleasure. Leaving me one hell of a satisfied viewer.
Confirm that second season right now Netflix

Rebecca Billcliff (2409 KP) rated Planet Earth II in TV
Nov 28, 2019 (Updated Jan 26, 2020)
Outstanding Programing
Sir David Attenborough once again narrates a series full of astonishing creatures, and some if the most stunning shots I have ever seen. Like the original series, it is broken down into sections, each showing a habitat such as jungles, the deep sea ect. And how the animals within deal with the challenges of that habitat. It is another beautiful showcase of the founders of the natural world and is a MUST see for all nature documentary fans.
