I’m a full-time structural engineer, mother of two, and book lover. Before babies I played a lot of strategy board games, knitted, crocheted, and loved super hero movies. I still do those things when I get a chance!

Characters Coming into Their Own
Poets & Piracy saw the characters becoming distinct from their Firefly counterparts. We started to see some backstory, especially from Tanny as we met some of her family members. The series started to show promise of being a good stand alone fantasy rather than Firefly fan-fiction.

A Little Less Firefly, A Little More Jurassic Park
In the second novel, the characters start to come into their own a little, instead of being Firefly knockoffs. The story is very much a Firefly meets Jurassic Park, with wizards. The editing was a little better in this book. There weren't any major noticeable typos (that I caught).
