From the moment I started to read this book the world around me disappeared and I found myself utterly immersed within the pages of this amazing book. The story line was well constructed and the characters were fantastic. I fell head over heels with Angie and Reece and honestly who wouldn't!? This book has it all from teenage angst to supernatural creatures with some swoon worthy moments that have left me clamoring for more. This author grabbed a hold of her magical thread and weaved a paranormal tale that kept me glued to my seat. I look forward to what's to come from this talented author. I will end this review with one of my favorite quotes; "The world reeks of death and pain, and you smell like life and joy and everything I can never have."

Merissa (12704 KP) rated Summer Heat: A Steamy Romance Collection in Books

Summer Heat: A Steamy Romance Collection
Summer Heat is a collection of short and steamy romances, absolutely perfect for the beach or when you are stuck in an airport! Just make sure you have some water with you as you might need to cool down. Every story is different, ranging from contemporary, to paranormal, to rock stars and the military. In my opinion, there is literally something here for everyone.
All of the stories flow, with no editing or grammatical errors that disrupted my reading flow. There is simply no story that I felt was a 'filler', and far too many to choose just one favourite! Absolutely recommended by me - for that perfect summer read; or if you want to remember those hot, halcyon days, when it is cold outside.
* A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book, and my comments here are my honest opinion. *

Echo Falls (Echo Falls #1) by Jaime McDougall
I got this for two reasons - 1) it was free and 2) I like paranormal romance. I can quite honestly say that I'm very glad that I did and have sat down and read it in a couple of hours as I wanted to find out what happened!
I loved the storyline in it and even though I knew who the "traitor" was, it in no way diminished my enjoyment of the story as a whole. I loved how Phoebe's story was told throughout the book and how Aidan was trying to get information from her. The secondary characters in this book are also believable and funny. It also makes a very refreshing change to have the main female as scared, unsure and carrying physical scars without being a complete wuss.
Loved reading it and will definitely be keeping it!
Favourite character? Definitely Aiden!

Georgina DeBurca (2 KP) rated Paranormal Protection Agency (Paranormal Protection Agency, #1 - #5) in Books
Jan 29, 2018
I'm Not going to reveal any spoilers. This book features books 1-5 of the Paranormal protection agency series by Mina Carter.
My overall impression: It was an extremely well written and well thought out series. The stories are quick reads but in my opinion that is a good thing. Especially for women who have lots they have to do such as working and looking after the kids. I would have plowed through this in one day if not for my children, but it's fine because I can get to the end of a part and put it down and come back to it.
The characters were amazing to meet. The men were strong and domineering. The women were sometimes equally as strong but just needed a bit of brute strength in assistance.
The love scenes were hot hot hot. The men sexy, the women wanton. I loved it.
I'd definitely advise you buy this and read it. You won't be disappointed.

I received an ebook copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I am a lover of historical fiction and love anything paranormal so this story was one I was much anticipating so here goes.
Our heroine Eliza Robinson is sent to stay with her Aunt Mauve in the puritan community of Maybrook.
She comes to escape gossip after a refusal of marriage to her fathers business partner Mr. Thomas Beesly.
Eliza hears ghostly voices and later that night her aunt is murdered in her bed leading our Eliza on an adventure of ghosts murder romance and an old Journal belonging to Helena the deceased mother of our hero Jonathan Porter who supposedly drowned when Jon was a child.
I could say a lot more about this book but don't want to spoil it for anyone needless to say it was an excellent read and i really enjoyed it i do so love a happy ending give it a try you wont be disappointed.

Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2322 KP) rated The Ghosts of Misty Hollow in Books
Mar 9, 2018
Emma and Phil are in Massachusetts at the invitation of mystery writer Gino Costello. He plans to include ghosts in his next book, and plans to use Emma’s expertise to get that part right. However, tension between Gino and Vanessa and the presence of many ghosts looking for Emma’s help will keep this trip for being restful.
While I don’t read many paranormal cozies, I enjoy this series because the characters are so much fun. We only really see Emma, Phil, and Granny here, but they are fantastic, and the new characters more than make up for any characters you might miss. The pacing is a little uneven, but the plot is good and the further I got into the book, the harder it was to put down.
Note: I received a copy of this book.

Kristin (149 KP) rated The Warded Man (Demon Cycle, #1) in Books
Dec 7, 2018
Disclaimer: I won a print copy of this book in a FirstReads giveaway.
When I first read the synopsis, I was hesitant to enter the giveaway, as I didn't know how much I would enjoy this book. However, I talked myself into it, and I'm definitely glad I did, because it's a great book. The idea of demons, or "corelings," rising through the ground every night to attack people and tear up everything is just really interesting, and I don't know why I was hesitant to begin with. I found myself growing attached to the three main characters as their stories unfolded, and I couldn't wait to see what happened on the next page. There's a ton of action, the paranormal/horror aspect of attacking demons, some historical elements, and even a little romance, so it's got something for everyone. I decided less than halfway through that I'm going to get the 2nd and 3rd books, and I can't wait to get started on them!!

Merissa (12704 KP) rated The Bend-Bite-Shift Box Set in Books
Dec 17, 2018
First of all, this box set is an absolute bargain. Not only do you get three full-length novels but you also get two novellas as well.
The plot is well written and well paced. The characters all have depth and oomph to them, and more than one has a hint of mystery to them. The story has one main theme which runs through all five books but then each book has it's own, more detailed story. There is enough going on that is a series that could go on for a few more books at least. I'm really hoping it does! +Olivia Hardin has written some more in the "For Love of Fae" trilogy which will have at least some characters that we have already met.
If you want Paranormal Romance with some action and mystery, with powers to 'bend' your mind at an incredible value for money price, then check out the Bend-Bite-Shift Box Set.

Phil Leader (619 KP) rated The White Hart (Red Grouse Tales) in Books
Nov 28, 2019
The fourth of The Red Grouse Tales is also the most obviously paranormal in nature. Told by Pete, a keen fell runner and ladies' man, his one tale actually consists of three linked stories. The central and longest concerns a visit to an old chapel, all that remains of a stately home. There he meets a woman who relates the tragic story of Christine, the former owner of the house and supposed ghost.
This isn't a ghost story designed to spook or discomfort; instead the intriguing tale of Christine, along with that of Pete himself, is a moral one of how some men and women manipulate each other and at what level that becomes unacceptable. The story itself is light with a happy (if not entirely surprising) ending that will leave a warmth where other stories in this collection have left a chill.
The lightest of the Red Grouse tales (in the edition I read) but very much a suitable one to end with.
