"The plural of vampire is vampire."

Right then, onto the Paranormal bit first - there is vampire involved but this in no way is the only part of the story. In fact, they are not mentioned much at the beginning and I was a bit confused why I was reading about them when the story didn't seem to involve them. There is a vampire who has regained his human consciousness (think Angel from Buffy) and now is working with the secret Order of the Black Swan to help neutralise the vampire threat.

But this book is so much more than just that. It is a story of a woman, thrown from all she knows and in dire circumstances, to a world similar to ours but in other ways oh so different. It brings you into the story as she tries to figure out where she fits in this new life. The only family she has are the people who found her and trust me, if you're going to be lost then you want to be found by these guys! They are all Alpha males and brilliant. I have been laughing out loud during this book as well as falling in love with them bit by bit myself.

Absolutely brilliant but if you'll excuse me .... I'm off to read The Witch's Dream (Book 2 of the Order of the Black Swan)

I love me a Paranormal Romance book - especially when I love the way it's written, get pulled into the storyline, drool over the Alpha male and laugh out loud. All of this happened with this book.

There are loads of things that I enjoyed about this book, I could go on and on, but one of the things that I will mention is the fact that Ceithin is a bit of an ass at the start. Yes, he's attracted to Aurelia but he's with someone else. Someone else who has a superiority complex and lays into Aurelia whilst Ceithin stands by and does nothing. Not good! However, he does make up for it and quickly wormed his way under my skin, pretty much the same as he did for Aurelia. I loved her reactions to it all though - completely honest!

The storyline kept my interest although at one point I had almost forgotten that she had had 'trouble' as I was concentrating so much on their burgeoning relationship. Well developed storyline, brilliant characters and anyone who can quote a Tairen Soul line is excellent by me! Looking forward to reading Ceithin's novella and more in this series in the (hopefully) near future.

This is one of Entangled's Select Historical novels and my first introduction to both them and this author. I have to say that I am in no way disappointed!

The Order of the M.U.S.E. is a secret society that you learn about as you go on. They have various members who are capable in various ways. The latest 'recruit' is Cassie, an emergent fire mage who needs help controlling her element. But this is also during the time of the 'mad King George' and it is the Order's job to protect royalty against any who would harm them. Where there is yin, there is yang and although it is only mentioned in passing, you are left with the impression that there is another Order there who seeks to harm, not help.

This is very well written and gives you a good insight on the ton and the rules and regulations that would need to be followed to be part of Polite Society. The plot is smoothly written and moves along at a fair pace, never slumping.

A warm-hearted story with a hint of mystery, a dash of the paranormal and more than a tinge of hot romance. Definitely recommended.
