Managed to get a couple of reviews in for my 2020 reads, many more to go... Will try to catch up. On my 85th book of the year ( The Possession - Michael Rutger). I have a week of peace from Friday, where I hope to get another five books read... the peace of the seaside, a lodge, a glass of wine or two and a hot tub...

Well done
This horror movie actually fits the description. The acting was great and the cinematography/effects were very well done. This one has LOTS of creep factor. Pay attention or you'll miss little details. This is a really good demon possession story with lots of dark energy. The story moved along at a nice steady pace and delivered a very intense climactic exorcism scene. This one is really worth a watch!

A clever supernatural horror

I enjoyed this horror as it has good special effects and a clever story. The possession of the husband and his subsequent deterioration are quite graphic at times and the overall feel of the film is just dark enough. The musical parts are a minor hiccup but they do piece the story together nicely. From India to London this is a horror film that is definitely worth a watch.

The start of the revised Accidental Detective series and a brand new book. A trip to Hawaii for a wedding turns dangerous when an ancient Japanese statue is found in the possession of the groom, who promptly disappears. This may be a middle grade book, but it is filled with twists and a puzzling mystery you won't want to put down.

An elderly man suffering from Alzheimer's comes into possession of a magical sword called Valofax. With Valofax, he regains his memory in the sword's presence, and defends his family and world against an alien being that wants Valofax. It is a story of magic, fantasy, war, family, and love.

The only reason I gave God Country only an 8 is because I thought it ended abruptly. I think it could have been much more, even with the same overall point of the story.

This film is superb, following the original three games, The Eternal Diva shows style and fluidity matching the games. The scenes are very well done and provide and excellent story that manages to fit puzzles like that of the games within it.

The fact that they have Luke begin the film by acting as a PR man for the first three games is amusing too.

I particularly enjoyed the operatic scenes of the film, as well as the revealing of Melanie's possession of Janet.

I Received an ARC copy from netgalley for an open and honest review.
I love love love this book, it really is about friendship, love, adolescence, experimentation and of course possession.
There were some real twists and turns that I did not expect and it was a real page turner of a book.
It was well put together and completely from a Abby's point of view.
I loved how Abby was tested again and again trying to save her friend and the ending was a superb ending to this book.
Loved it :)

The story continues! I love this series. Maine is still trying to find bits of the mask, the demon/ God seems to be happy with his possession regarding how much control he’s taking - it has become more symbiotic.
We are taken to a refugee island, and the little fox discovers where all her people are.
I’m wondering what exactly the cat is up to though. The fox is wanted for something by his people, but he doesn’t seem to want to hand him over. I think his allegiance might be changing.
And the end is rather explosive - what will happen next?!

"The most beautiful movie ever made. The face of an aging nun, photographed in an extreme close-up, has the same power and emotional weight as a lush landscape of the matte-painted mountains of India. Powell and Pressburger understand that both the face and the mountains are landscapes, interior and exterior. Erotic tension has never bubbled under the surface of a movie as well as it bubbles here. When it explodes, it is genuinely insane. Only Isabelle Adjani in Possession comes close to matching Kathleen Byron’s portrait of unhinged madness. To watch Black Narcissus is to know the limits of ecstasy."

Great story, good scares & and a decent who dunnit (0 more)
Ewan McGregor's 'american' accent. (0 more)
Don't diddle dead things!
Me and the wife were watching 'the possession of Hannah Grace' and it reminded me of this 90s gem. Ewan McGregor takes a job as a night watchman at a morgue to pay for law school and it's obviously kinda freaky but then he begins to realise he's being implicated for a series of murders. Great psychological build ups and scares and great performances from josh brolin and Nick Nolte. The only real let down is Ewan McGregor and his terrible American accent which is so bad it's almost distracting. Most definitely worth a watch.
