Joe Julians (221 KP) rated I Feel Pretty (2018) in Movies
Jun 20, 2018
Full review:
I Feel Pretty is a comedy that has forgotten its genre. It seems to have slipped the minds of everyone involved that there are meant to be jokes and moments that make us laugh as this is totally devoid of them. The lead character is downright unlikable for almost the entire runtime and were it not for Michelle Williams, there would have been nothing to praise.

The Craggus (360 KP) rated Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984) in Movies
Jun 19, 2019
Indiana Jones And The Temple Of Doom (1984) deserves far more fortune and glory on its 35th Anniversary
Unjustly denigrated by fans, unfairly disowned by its creators, “Indiana Jones And The Temple Of Doom” has long had to fend off more than its fair share of criticism. Now, on its 35th Anniversary, it’s time this neglected middle child of the Indiana Jones saga got the praise it’s due.

The Happiness Project or The Praise Me Project
I loved the concept. It had a lot of potential, but unfortunately I did not care for the narrator. She was down right naggy, whiney and self absorbed. I think she needs to try and follow her own advice a little harder. If you want to read a book about happiness and ways to improve your life, I suggest looking for another book.

Auburn (57 KP) rated Olympian Challenger in Books
Apr 10, 2019
I was skeptical at first but in the end this book blew all of my expectations away. The world building, character, and story are so well written you can see yourself there. You develop connections to characters and root for them. Hope is flawed and relatable but grows so much. Her story and those of the others are relatable and heartbreaking.
The cover is gorgeous but what's inside really is the art. I cannot praise this enough.

Heidi Proctor (4 KP) rated The Greatest Showman (2017) in Movies
Sep 12, 2018
After putting off watching this film for some time I decided to give it a go one evening after hearing all of my friends praise it. Unfortunately I didn’t enjoy it as much as they said I would. Even though Hugh Jackman and Zach Efron were brilliant actors I just couldn’t bring myself to put all of my attention into watching the film. I would recommend this film if you enjoy musicals but I wouldn’t bother watching it again.

Andrew Koltuniuk (753 KP) rated Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014) in Movies
May 19, 2020
Wow. Is there any better example of cinematic perfection? I absolutely adore this film. The Winter Soldier is my favorite MCU movie. It took the character of Captain America and it elevated him to a level far beyond what he was before. This movie is a beautiful masterpiece. I have high praise for it. The Russo brothers took the character and treated him so well. It proved just how capable they were of handling such an important character to the MCU!

Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2109 KP) rated Creature of the Mists (Accidental Detectives, #6) in Books
Mar 9, 2018
An expedition to track a mythological creature in British Columbia is fraught with peril before they've even reached their destination. But who is behind the danger? While I often praise the mysteries in this series, this is my favorite because of the great twists and turns. And the reprint allowed him to add one sentence that took care of a plot hole from the first edition.
