So this was really good.. Some trigger spots for those who are sensitive to rape scenes... but the action and characters kept me thrilled and on the edge of my seat. I really enjoyed this and I'm glad I got to rview it

This is a great read for highschool students, in my opinion. It sheds a powerful light onto subjucts like bullying, rape and suicide. Beautifully written in its context, it is a unique view on just how easy it is for 'things' to add up.

Wonderful book
Nothing I can say could possibly do this book justice. I highly recommend everyone (adult) who can stomach hard topics to read this book. Be warned kidnapping, murder, rape, are main themes.

Adam DeVine recommended By the Way by Red Hot Chili Peppers in Music (curated)
This book touched on a lot of hard subjects that I wasn't expecting(eating disorders, self harm, and rape), and it handled all of them very honestly. It didn't hold back, but it didn't glorify any unhealthy behavior either. I absolutely love Virginia, the main character, and can't wait to read more about her in the sequel.

Caffeinated Fae (464 KP) rated Rape: A Love Story in Books

First off, I hate the title. This was not a book that I could read out in public without getting some very concerned looks. I picked up this book because a book blog that I follow had a post about the book and it made me curious. Other than the title, I liked this book. I was a volunteer for an anti sexual assault group for 2 years and this hits the nail on the head (how a sexual assault survivor is treated). This book is extremely dark. I had to put it away every few minutes and regroup.
This book shows how one rape can send ripples and waves through a community. When reading this book the reader gets to see what impact a rape has an individual and society. There were a lot of rape myths that were present and it just made me want to scream at the media. I think the most depressing thing about this book is that the experience of the mother and daughter are true for so many victims of sexual assault.
Ultimately, I found this book interesting and fascinating. I'm going to have to have to reread it again because I feel like I could get more out of this novel on a second read.

The brutal truth
Contains spoilers, click to show
This show has some bad press but the inflencial essence this show has and the benefits and awareness it gives to viewers who have suffered or inflicted is amazing
The Hannah baker rape seen is brutal and explicit but it shows that not phisycally fighting back doesn't not make it rape
The suicide scene has especially explicit content but show the brutal truth to the consequences of other people's hurtful actions and doesn't glorify the fact but In all essence spreads awareness and honestly believe this show is a must watch for anyone and everyone who is or has a teenager going into high school the show keeps you gripping your seat and in some cases hard to watch but the brutally honest truth to what goes on in a lot of children's lives.
