Great characters
Art was beautiful
Short to play, but incredibly fun
Oxenfree was a beautifully styled coming-of-age story that pulled the player into the relationships between characters as much as into the drama of the ghost story. At times intense and a little scary (I'm a baby about stuff like that though), but also sweet and compelling. I really wanted everyone to be okay, although I fudged a bunch and not everyone made it out alive.
The actions have consequences aspect is great. The choices felt like realistic situations for the teenagers and each bad/good decision was believable.
Plan on playing this again in the near future to try and better improve my favorite character's chances!

I had a sudden craving for sci-fi/fantasy one day and stumbled across this book just days after it had been released. The lead character was a strong, boundary-defying female with her own flaws to overcome - and she was handled very well in terms of development and realistic emotion.
The writing was wonderful, I was sucked in and finished the book in less than a few days (with my busy schedule, that really is a feat!). The villains were not so easy to identify, making the tale of political intrigue that much more interesting.
If you're looking for a story of magic and a rebel heroine, then look no further. I cannot wait for the sequel!

This book tells the story of two lifelong friends...1 a shift manager at a sawmill, the other a younger, cancer ridden bootlegger. The novel moves seamlessly between flashbacks of when A.J. & Eugene were young & the present day. The story deals with Eugene's slow decline into the late stages of pancreatic cancer & how A.J. comes to terms with his friend's eventual demise. It provides a heartbreaking look into what a caner patient deals with as well as what that person's family & friends deal with. It was sad, but at the same time there was plenty of humor dispersed throughout the tale to keep the reader from getting too depressed with Eugene's illness.
In the end, many long held secrets come to light. The end is bittersweet, but realistic.

This was a wonderful book! Ever since Wren was introduced I had been eagerly anticipating his addition (along with many more who we haven't heard from yet! grr! :P), and I was not disappointed! I really enjoyed the relationship between Wren and Maggie; their story was sweet and spicy. I did miss some of the Dark-Hunter aspects, especially Simi and Ash, but it's nice to have a break from the DH storyline every now and then. Especially when Ms. Kenyon has barely broken into the Were-Hunter part of her world. Anyway, as I said before (well, sorta), Wren and Maggie were great and in a way, they seemed more realistic than some of the other couples, more-so with Maggie. Another awesome book in this thrilling series! :)

I had picked this up because it sounded like a cute plot, too bad I was let down. When I first started reading this I liked Haley, but as I read more, especially towards the end, she got on my nerves. She was so judgmental and annoying. I got to the point that I wished Rick wouldn't get with her, even though I knew that was pointless and of course he'd end up with her. Oh well, you can't win them all. Maybe if the author had made Haley a little realistic and maybe some minor changes to the plot, it would have been a better (and funnier) book for me. Rick was a great character though, if not a little too perfect. That's the only reason I'm raising my rating. :)
