Tom Hank's, as usual, is superb.
Well crafted and moving story.
based on King's 1996 serialized novel set in a prison. In 1935, inmates at the Cold Mountain Correctional Facility call Death Row "The Green Mile" because of the dark green linoleum that tiles the floor.

Class comedy drama
What could be a boring story regarding a womans life after her husbands death gets spun on its head. Christina Applegate and the rest of the cast put their acting capabilities to the full with this biting story about grieving, loss and redemption.
The twists come thick and fast without being contrived. Give it ago it feels fresh for such a well treaded subject.

Richard Johnson (1 KP) rated Xena: Warrior Princess in TV
May 10, 2018
Xena: Warrior Princess follows the title character as she seeks redemption for her grisly past.
Accompanied by her soulmate Gabrielle, The Battling Bard of Poutidea, they travel across Greece and beyond, righting wrongs and helping the hopeless.
The show itself incorporates various mythological creatures and dieties of Ancient Greece, as well as the gods and goddesses of many other religions, including Norse, Indian, Christianity and more.
The show is full of action, comedy, and supernatural suspense, great for all ages.

Dean (6921 KP) rated Bad Lieutenant (1992) in Movies
Apr 8, 2018
An intense crime drama as a NY cop sinks into increasing levels of despair. This has a great performance from Keitel and the whole films seem a character study of the Bad lieutenant. The film though goes from one scene to the next of him mainly taking drugs, drinking, stealing drugs from crimes scenes and going to prostitutes. We never know how or why he got like this? Then working on a brutal rape case of a nun he seeks redemption.

Chris Hooker (419 KP) rated Unbroken in Books
Jan 12, 2018
This was a book club book but also on my never ending list. [Laura Hillenbrand] has a masterful way of telling a story that few authors possess. in [Unbroken] she introduces us to Louie Zamperini and takes us through the joy and trails of his life as a precocious child throughbeing an Olympic runner and of course his capture and imprisonment by the Japanese in World Way II. This is a story of strength, courage, doubt, and redemption that I encourage all to read.
Andrew Sinclair (25 KP) rated The Good Place in TV
Nov 23, 2019
The Good Place is a fun, silly and surreal sit-com about redemption. It is set in an after life where only good people go. But the main character is not a particularly good person and realises she doesn't belong there. This realisation takes her on a journey of self-improvement so can stay in The Good Place. However there is a mind-blowing twist at the end of season one that changes everything. It's a rare thing to have a thought provoking sitcom.

I love anthologies. Especially ones that don't have to go with the rest of the series just expands upon the universe. Unlike some you have to read or you know you're missing something crucial between books 3 and 4( for example). There are spoilers in this anthology however Patricia Briggs does a good job letting you know and where the stories fit inside the Mercy and Alpha and Omega universe. My favorite is the Ben story Redemption out of all her characters he has the most personal growth.
