I hate clowns, really hate them. Ever since I was about 11 years old and decided reading IT would be a good idea. That's a hell of a novel for a child to struggle through and it wasn't until many years later I felt brave enough to watch the movie - it just solidified my hatred of clowns.
So it was kicking and screaming my not so darling husband dragged me to watch IT a gleam in his eye the entire time (I swear the man is a psychopath sometimes).
In my not so humble opinion this remake is far better than the original despite being 10x more terrifying to those of us with a bad case of coulrophobia than the 1990 version. It's creepier with better cinematic focus and acting.
I'm looking forward to seeing the story and my terror continued in the sequel when the psychopath drags me to see that one too.

Jun 21, 2019
Story telling (1 more)
Hours of game play
Graphics (dated now) (1 more)
Turn based is for everyone
Still great story telling
To anyone that knows about this game will always hear its their top 10 game they've played and for good reasons the story is gripping for the get go.
Had a bit of itch to play this ever since the remake was announced and i dove right back into it and to this day it still holds up far be it the graphics are dated, look past this and you have a game that has hours of game play (over 12 hours if you play at a decent pace and don't go for everything the game has to offer. Even speed runners struggle to beat it under 9)
If you like turn based games or tried the later final Fantasy games I recommend giving this a go, this made games we play today tell great story telling.

Lenard (726 KP) rated Shaft (2019) in Movies
Jun 23, 2019
Samuel L Jackson in the role he is most suited for. Jackson plays John Shaft, an unfiltered New York City detective turned private investigator. Shaft works the mean streets of Harlem although not the gentrified nouveau riche version that exists today. In this sequel to the 2000 remake/continuation of the 70s classics, the booksmart JJ, John Shaft Jr, hires Shaft to help him investigate the "suicide" of his best friend, an Afghan War vet and former heroin junkie. Using his special set of streetwise skills, Shaft shows his son that he may not know as much as he thinks he does especially when it comes to women. Together, the Shafts uncover the conspiracy that the Supertroopers found 18 years ago but in Harlem with a major Latinx drug dealer who tried to destroy Shaft's life 20 years ago. While not great, this film at least is entertaining in ways most of the films this summer is not.

The wicker Man
Contains spoilers, click to show
Spoilers if you havent seen this movie.
Midsommar reminded me alot of wicker man. Here's how.
1. A group of people go to a remote festival, that only happens every some among of years. Yes i know that in wicker-man it was just the dective but still.
2. The festival celbrates by harvesting. In this movie the festival celbrates life and death, also new borns. Actually in wicker-man, the main charcter burns inside of the wicker-man a celebrate of death.
3. The festival is run by males and females who are questionable. In the remake of wicker-man the festival is run by women while the man work.
4. The festival has a questionable/horryfying past.
This movie has a lot in common with both versions of the wicker-man.
I liked actually both versions of the wicker-man that this movie. Yes the nicolas cage wicker-man is better than this movie.

Sleepaway Camp 2009
Since its Friday the 13th today, im going to review the remake/reboot of Friday the 13th film. The one that was actually pretty good. The one that was the 12th one. This one continued teenagers being teenagers. The one with Jason as the villian.
The Plot: Against the advice of locals and police, Clay (Jared Padalecki) scours the eerie woods surrounding Crystal Lake for his missing sister. But the rotting cabins of an abandoned summer camp are not the only things he finds. Hockey-masked killer Jason Voorhees lies in wait for a chance to use his razor-sharp machete on Clay and the group of college students who have come to the forest to party.
platinum dunes produce this one, and i actually like their horror remakes, and i think their really underrated.
This one continues to be scary, horrorfying, terrorfying and overall a good friday the 13th film.

The Lion King- such a classic. Its perfect, amazing, fantasic and phenomenal and than thier just had to remake last year, live action style because of $$$ and have beyonce voice one of the charcters and have a second soundtrack with rap stars??? Anyways, the songs are so excellent, you have... "Circle of Life", "I Just Cant Wait to be King", "Be Perpared", "Hakuna Matata" and "Can't You Feel The Love Tonight".
The plot: This Disney animated feature follows the adventures of the young lion Simba (Jonathan Taylor Thomas), the heir of his father, Mufasa (James Earl Jones). Simba's wicked uncle, Scar (Jeremy Irons), plots to usurp Mufasa's throne by luring father and son into a stampede of wildebeests. But Simba escapes, and only Mufasa is killed.
