Having read a number of scathing reviews of this book, I have to admit that I was a little worried - I really dislike having to give someones hard work a poor rating but, fear not, it was quite good although as many have said, it could have been better which just goes to show that us readers are fickle human beings and what one person dislikes, another will absolutely love
well, if we all liked the same things, it would be a pretty boring world!

Slightly overhyped with massive plot gaps
I had read a great number of reviews about this eccentric book, but perhaps it was a little too quirky for my liking. There are major similarities with Chuck Palahniuk in terms of the exaggerated style of writing and general shock factor, unfortunately it did not seem to deliver. The characters were undeveloped and there seem to be a lot of loose ends at the end of the book such as what actually happened to B and C? While I can understand the moralistic nature of the story, attacking the usage of food as a means to control people, there seemed to be something missing.

This book took me a long time to really get in to. It's not that it was poorly written, it just didn't hook me like I expected it to after reading some of the reviews. It wasn't until about half way through that I bought into the story. It is the story of John Delahunt, a real person though the story is fictional. Delahunt worked for the Castle in Dublin after failing out of college & losing his father's house to the bank. He eloped young & was forced to go to them to support himself & his young wife. The beginning drug on & the end was lacking. I just wasn't impressed.

Cast chemistry
Great Rom/Com
As Rom-coms go this is one of the better ones of the last few years. Kinda mixing @Meet the Parents (2000) with @The Devil Wears Prada (2006) Most reviews seem split on the two leads, personally I think they do have a good chemistry in this. Along with a great setting, a strong cast including the funny Betty White (Goldengirls) make this a pleasing film. It is predictable, aren't they all? It does have some good laughs along the way as the love-hate-love relationship unfolds. It's an enjoyable feel good comedy with two good leads.

Spielberg bowed out of the franchise and Joe Johnston (Jumanji) took over proceedings for this third instalment with composer John Williams also leaving the series.
The script was also not completed by the time the film started shooting which is never a good sign. However, the finished product did have some merits. Sam Neill and Laura Dern’s return to the series was great and the new Spinosaurus proved a fitting antagonist.
But the raptors became cartoon villains and Tea Leoni was just dreadful. At only 80 minutes long, it needed some serious padding out too.

Damn good and entirely satisfying
Every time I read reviews from this movie I always see men saying that they feel kind of sorry for the pedophile(though ultimately got what he deserved) in this movie and it blows my mind, because throughout the entire movie I found myself rooting for Hayley a 14-year-old girl who has taken to hunting down the pedophiles who had something to do with the disappearance rape and murder of another young girl.
Ellen Page plays Hayley so perfect that even through the most graphic scenes she holds this innocence about her that just makes her performance all the more effective.

For me, this version is an improvement to the original. It tries to help you learn the game rather than fight you as the FFG version seemed to do at times. If you already have the FFG version, you can purchase an upgrade kit that has all of the new cards in a nice tin for about $30, and then download the new version of the rules from the Ares Games website, that might be enough for you.

REVIEW: PUERTO RICO
Well, at least on my end, being newer to the hobby, I approach Puerto Rico as a relative newbie, without the baggage of its longstanding reputation. So what did I think of this classic?

A good espionage Thriller
I didn't see many reviews before seeing this, just a trailer. It's a very stylish spy thriller with some great cast members.
The trailer made it seem quite a seductive thriller, whilst it does have some sex scenes and nudity it's gratuitous rather than sexy. It's quite violent and brutal at times with some torture scenes.
Overall the story is interesting but not gripping and the pacing is up and down in the 2nd half of the film. Thankfully the ending was decent and Lawrence does well in a challenging role.

Another side story winner!

Wow. Just wow. I was so worried for this being bad after so many reviews saying it was a let down but how wrong they were.
A lot of nods to other characters and story arcs as well as a string link to Star Wars Rebels (the animated series) of which I also loved.
It was good to see how the Millennium Falcon got its iconic shape and how it was won.
Oh and of course the origin of the 12 parsecs run!
Go watch it now!!
