This is one of my all time favorite movies! I will watch this movie anytime it is on tv and will pull out the DVD anytime I want a good movie to watch. The story is motivational and shows the power of family and the power of passion. Mel Gibson's character Ben, starts off as a simple farmer, raising his seven children in the pre-revolutionary war colonies. His son Gabriel (Heath Ledger), sees what is coming and wants to be apart of it. One fateful day, events happen that force Ben into a war he wants no part of. It is a journey that changes all the characters in ways they never expected. I would recommend this movie to anyone who loves historical movies, who loves action movies, and who loves really good movies.

John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum (2019)
2019 | Action, Crime, Thriller
John Wick is quickly becoming a favorite franchise among many, myself included. Keanu Reeves excels in a revolutionary role that shows the viewer a type of action rarely seen before and never seen in the elaborate conditions and setting that is built within this world.

It's nice how this series introduces new characters to fight the titular Wick. They always have an original way to twist the story around and make this villain the most evil villain yet, even if that isn't necessarily the case.

I can't wait to see what is in store in the next installment. Reeves has publicly stated that he will keep making John Wick movies as long as people want to keep watching them. Well, I will keep watching them for as long as you keep making them, Mr. Reeves.

"Nobody can underestimate the world changing impact that The Beatles had on my generation. It was so powerful and revolutionary. It enabled us all to see the possibility of picking up a guitar and expressing ourselves in any way you wanted. And they were the pioneers of change and innovation. They were symbolic in the sense that we were all looking for something new and they provided it. When I heard Please Please Me, it was like it was from another world. This album represents the beginning, when they had been playing clubs and were first capturing that creative energy and raw vocals. This was the bare naked, early origin of many of these artists in this piece of music and I loved it. Of course, they went on to do many things after that, but this was the kernel, the seed of what they were to do later."

"People forget how revolutionary they were at the time. I remember seeing them in town when they were a 'goth' band. They weren’t really but they had that goth on guitar [Andy Couzens]. People think of them now about the way they look and everything but they were the last people in Manchester to start dressing like that. Everybody else in Manchester already looked like that. But really, when this album came out after all the trouble they had it was just perfect. When you got to hear the full version of 'I Am The Resurrection', it was just perfect. Ian had the image and he was a great frontman, Reni and Mani were like the tightest rhythm section ever. And John was a great guitarist yeah, but he was also in charge of this amazing sleeve art and this look that was really important to them and was different to anything else that was going on as well."

Star Wars: Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back (1980)
Star Wars: Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back (1980)
1980 | Fantasy, Sci-Fi

"Just because I’m a huge Star Wars fan, and that movie really took the movie into a turn that set up the last movie. And the big surprises and everything that happen in the movie were really kind of revolutionary. And I just love sci-fi films, so Star Wars had to be on this list. And what’s so cool about it is I went to the 30th anniversary premiere — and I had just watched them — so I had brought an old VHS tape of that movie to the premiere, and I got Harrison Ford to sign it for me, which is really, really cool. And Billy Dee Williams was in an episode of Modern Family, and I got him to sign that VHS as well. So now all I really need to get is Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher to complete the actors in that movie. It’s one of my prized possessions."

A perfect Heist movie
This is a movie with a lot of "heat" coming off of it......okay no more puns. Everyone I know that has seen it has said how great it is but I just hadn't got round to wathing it until recently and wow. Wow wow wow this movie blew me away. I loved every minute of this movie and there's a lot of them ! There are great films and then there are works of art and I think this is a work of art because it is truly incredible and revolutionary. Every member of the cast is brilliant and some of the themes are very cleverly used as well as showcasing the high levels of intellect the criminals have when setting out a score. If you love movies then this is something you really need to watch and you will likely find it as amazing as I did.

Incredibly sad
Not bad adaptation of Philip Roth's book

Harrowing, tragic and moving
Philip Roth's tragic drama about the perfect high school couple and the disintegration of a family has finally made it on to the big screen. Set in the 1960's during massive political upheaval in America, it follows the story of a daughter who disappears after allegedly bombing a store, killing a clerk as part of a 'revolutionary' movement. Her father, played by Ewan McGregor, believes that she has been manipulated and that she is truly innocent throughout, even in the face of all opposing evidence. It's horrific seeing the mother and father's complete breakdown and it seems apparent the daughter Merry is suffering from a mental illness. There's hints of sexual abuse thought to have triggered her stutter, but it is extremely subtle.

It's really quite a sombre watch, especially given that the film begins with the father's funeral. Beautiful acting, but the daughter's character was extremely irritating.

So as we left our heroes, the last human city, Zion, is coming under imminent threat from the army of robot "squiddies" hurling toward them at lightning speed and Neo has discovered he has superhuman powers and can do lots of cool stuff.

After Agent Smith visits the Oracle at the beginning of the film, he really disappears along with Neo while the large dogfight between the humans who are using these Avatar/Aliens type robot machine things to defend Zion.

Most of the battle scenes are mediocre at best. The whole time I was thinking I had seen all of this done better in other movies.

The scenes between Neo and Trinity at the end tie the story of the three films together somewhat, but the ultimate climax is not very interesting and somewhat of a letdown.

Ultimately, Warner Brothers wanted to make The Matrix a film trilogy, and although the original will always maintain its status as truly revolutionary, the sequels will always be remembered as disappointments.

An absolute delight to read. Nothing pleases me more than a couple who genuinely loves each other. It’s so hard to put into words how I feel about this novel. While it’s not groundbreaking or revolutionary, Scandal of the Season is a lovely read filled with mutual love built upon friendship. It’s such a change from the romances where the couple fight the entire time or fall in love because they are forced into each other’s presence for extended periods of time (a.k.a soulmates trope).

I am not sure what I can say about this book. It had a simple but enjoyable storyline, entertaining characters, and a tender love story. The writer also has an easy style that make the story a pleasure to read. The only negative comment I have is that the title is a little misleading. I am still not sure what the scandal was…

If you are a fan of historical romance, this should definitely be on your TBR list.
