The New Warriors had a very slow start for me, it wasn't until more than halfway that it finally started to click, and not because of some datedness. I think the writers and artists started finding their characters and where to go and how to get there. I happen to like some of retro-ness of the "heroes for the nineties" as is emblazoned a few places. Skateboards, blatant Batman rip-off, cheesy humor and slang, mention of one of my favorite shows ever (21 Jump Street); yeah, I'm not ashamed, I love it. Some of the little adverts or whatsits after the extra artwork were cute too. There are some genuinely great moments nearer the end and look forward to more.

People who state that this is a rip off of either Transcendence or Replicas have missed something. I even saw one reference to the movie Her in a critique. Really? Other than AI presence there is no similarity. At least with the other two (Replicas and Transcendence) there's a similar idea of a life living on through the use of an AI shell. Alas, I digress.

This movie was actually a lot better than I expected. I think that if it had gotten a proper theater release it might have done pretty well and found a wider audience. No spoilers here, but I will say that my jaw literally dropped during this movie, which isn't something that happens often at all.

What the What?

I understand that this is a low budget somewhat of a rip off of Transformers, but I have seen similar movies like this and some of them are pretty good. Transmorphers however is not one of them. I think this movie is more of a showcase for modeling off the actors. The women were very attractive in this movie and some of the guys were pretty boys. The plot is aliens in robots trying to take over the world😒. A group if military personnel get together to try and stop them. They enlist the help of a disgraced solider named Warren Mitchell to help stop them. I will say this that it was pretty cool that Mitchell finds out he is an android with human feelings. If this type of movie is your thing, you may like this movie. But as a big sci fi fan, I did not like this movie. Big thumbs down from me

Yet another low-budget British knock-off of The Day the Earth Stood Still, distinguished (sort of) by the fact it's managed to secure the services of one of the stars of the original film, Patricia Neal (the movie never got an American release as it might have drawn a plagiarism suit from Fox). Bloke from Venus arrives in the home counties to deliver a grave message about the dangers of atomic weapons, engages in chaste sort-of romance with a woman who lives locally (Neal), is messed about by the government.

At least it's a little easier to take seriously than Devil Girl from Mars, but the production is even more primitive and it's a lot less fun. Helmut Dantine does the best he can, dispensing cosmic wisdom in a gravelly Austrian monotone, but the punishingly low budget really shows. The purest kind of rip-off - there's nothing here that isn't in the original movie, and everything that is here is less accomplished and less interesting. Not awful, though, nor is it without a certain historical curiosity value for SF aficionados.

Don't Let the Hard Days Win

The amount of love I have for this book is insane!
At the beginning, I wondered how weird it was that I was falling in love with Rhys only to discover that it wasn't weird at all. He legitimately cares about Feyre and that's all she ever wanted. He couldn't handle seeing her slowly disappear and lose weight and he definitely couldn't handle knowing she threw up her guts every night.
Then there's Tam-the-Tool. When these books become movies and all my friends love him, I'm going to want to rip my eyes out. Yes he was charming in book one but this book shows his shitty side and I would love to cut off his balls and feed them to him.
