For nearly three and a half centuries, the Boylan House has stood at the end of Meeting House Road. And something in that house has been killing boys for centuries. The town of Monson is a quaint and quiet New England town. Yet the house is terrifying and has been for as long as anyone can remember. Adults put the thing out of mind and ignore the fears of their children, admonishing them to stay away.Too many boys have vanished into the swamps behind the house. Bodies never recovered. Nothing ever recovered. The families are left with their memories and the disturbing thought that the Boylan House had something to do with it.Mason Philips knows better than that. He knows that there's something in the house. Something evil. Something hunting children from time to time. And Mason has decided that it's time for the killing to stop.

I am really enjoying reading this author at the minute I’m currently working my way through his Haunted series. This was very creepy and a good horror although reading it in the middle of the night in the dark added to the creepy. Very good author for those that love old fashioned scary.

⭐️⭐️⭐️

Morris Magellan has a house in the suburbs, nice wife and kids. But Morris is also a chronic alcoholic, heading fast towards self-destruction. Morris is not hoping to meet Ms. Right and acquire the two kids that will straighten everything out. He already has all this and it hasn't kept him off the bottle. Ron Butlin's tale of one man's inner turmoil is haunting, harrowing, yet strangely uplifting; a masterpiece from a neglected Scottish writer.

A glimpse into the mind of an alcoholic and how he sees the effects of his actions on his family. A different book to what I’m used to and I did find myself liking it.

"Iron...and...salt," whispers the old man. The dead old man. "Hurry or it will be too late...."

To escape the stress of living in the city and the anxiety of his high-pressure job, Brian Roy moves his family to the country. His wife loves the easy living, but Brian hates it...especially when weird things start happening in the house. When he discovers a dead body in the woods and a burial ground in his basement, Brian could never imagine the shocking history of the house or its former occupants that comes to light.

As his life starts to unravel, Brian isn't so sure living in the country is going to be the oasis of peace he and his wife expected. Lately, his home has become a haunting den of hell.

This was so much fun! A proper ghost fest! I love Ron Ripley he is so easy to read and enjoy. Really good start to a promising series.

"I also love Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas. I just think that Ron Howard‘s a genius along with Jim Carrey. Jim Carrey was the Grinch for real. Like, he is the Grinch. He was funny. The part where he just goes to his house and closes the door and says, “I’ve got everything I need right here.” And he didn’t have everything he needed there, but he thought he did. He was just kind of a lonely guy."
