Tracy Letts recommended Rosemary's Baby (1968) in Movies (curated)

Rosemary's Baby (1968)

"“He was in Luther and Nobody Loves an Albatross.” “Ectopic pregnancy.” “Chalky under-taste.” “Tannis root.” “All of them witches.” “What have done to his eyes?” “He has his father’s eyes!” “The Year is One!” And that’s just off the top of my head. Movies are rarely as quotable as Rosemary’s Baby, and no other horror movie comes close. Of course, those quotes come from a screenplay, written by Roman Polanski, who was faithful to the novel by Ira Levin. The whole enterprise is both hilarious and unnerving, a combination that is hard to pull off. It’s one of those movies, should you stumble upon it while flipping channels, you just can’t turn off."

Nice try.
Was excited to see something new from John Travolta and then was surprised to see that this was a Fred Durst film. The film plays out in a mixed bag of missed opportunity. You're unsure throughout the film who the director is wanting you to root for or what the message he is trying to relay. The plot, a familiar trope, has a few holes that are too glaring to ignore, as does the attempted neat little bow ending that fails on several levels. Did love several easter eggs splashed through the movie, though. Overall, it is another case of a great actor caught in a movie that falls short and could have been so much more.

Nut up or shut up
Zombieland is great, pure and simple. It's a common misconception I think, that zombies have been over done - yes I guess, but the same could be said about any genre - as long as there's the odd good one here and there then I'm ok with it.

Zombieland is a very self aware zombie film - mixing gore and action with a good dose of genuinely funny comedy.
The four lead characters are all endearingly likeable, and are easy to root for.
Woody Harrelson is a particular highlight!

The cinematography and special effects are stylish throughout the plentiful zombie action.

Throw in a great Bill Murray cameo and you have a winning formula.

I've currently read the first and second book, about to start the third.
Firstly I love this plot, I like the twist that instead of zombies you have haters, which are like extremely high functioning zombies, it unique and very clever, secondly I've read reviews on here about how they thought it was a slow burner, but I like that, he is setting up the story, getting to know the characters and I love the fact that he makes you empathise and root for the haters, I found myself hating the unchanged lol!! really can't say any more as I'll give the plot away but I throughly enjoyed the unique take on a apocalyptic style event that destroys the world you know and take for granted!

The storyline behind it is really good, the twist in the plot is immense (0 more)
The CGI leaves quite a bit to be imagined. (0 more)
Good storyline, good twist, mediocre cgi
So, as much as I loved watching this film and found myself enthralled into the story behind it. I found the visual effects somewhat lacking. Not reaching a high enough expectation for this kind of movie.

A movie based preliminarily around virtual reality the visual effects should be muh better and it is let down by this. That being said, the twists in the story and the way the characters are brought together. Brought this was very intuitive and clever. It showed good dynamic and gave the watcher someone to root for.

Even though hitman is a movie based off of a video game. I liked this movie. I thought timothy olyphant was a great choice for hitman.

The plot: Raised from childhood by the mysterious Diana organisation, Agent 47 is the perfect killer, but when he is dispatched to kill the Russian president, 47 discovers that his employers have betrayed him. Taking prostitute and possible witness Nika with him, the enigmatic assassin flees from both Interpol and the Russian secret service as he fights to uncover the root of the conspiracy.

To me hitman is a good movie, even though its a movie based off of a video game.

Its still a good movie unlike the 2015 film.

Unlike the 2007 film which to me was really good and underrated. This movie sucks, i forgot that this movie came out. This movie was really bad.

Its confusing, the plot makes no sense and overall anethor bad movie based off of a video game.

Watch the 2007 movie intstead of this one.
