I loved the first book in this series, giving it 4.5 stars. This one fell a little short for me. It still had some awesome Jamie and Ryan moments but the rest of the storyline didn't really tempt me in. The superhero bit was, I guess, then next logical step but I wasn't that thrilled by the idea of it. Neither about Teddy's appearance.

I can't not read the last book but I'm not in that much of a hurry to do so.

A fantastic movie that has very little faults
This movie was a weird one for me because I hate musicals so the thought of liking this movie had never crossed my mind. However I went in to see it and just by the opening I was hooked. Everything that happens is flawless and executed to perfection. I went back to see it the next day and again and again for a total of 10 times its that good. Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling are electric together and the levels of preparation they did for the roles is outstanding. Some of the finest acting and finest directing seen in a long time so it thoroughly deserved it's credit at the Oscars however it really should've been winner of Best Picture over Moonlight, A.K.A biggest fix in the history of Oscars ever.
If you haven't already, watch this movie and you won't be disappointed at all !

Above my expectations
I am a big fan of the Pokémon franchise. I've played the TCG back when I was a kid. Still playing now and then the videogames. I went to the cinema and I was surprised. Detective Pikachu is a solid movie if you are a Pokémon fan. The visual effects are stunning, the pokémons are made really well and Pikachu is just adorable. The chess mate was made by the quite brave choice of getting Ryan Reynolds to give his voice for Pikachu. I really enjoyed his acting and the voice (and jokes) coming from the little yellow Pokémon were simply amazing. If you are a Pokémon fan or you just want to enjoy a fun movie with your kids I highly recommend this movie.

Predictable but sweet
This book had to grow on me. In the beginning, Fixie drove me a little crazy. I was less irritated with her devotion to her family (perhaps I could relate there), but I was annoyed at how clueless she was in her adoration to Ryan Chalker, who was just terrible. And truly, Fixie's siblings were pretty awful to her, too. There were very few side characters in this one who were easy to like. Even Sebastian, whose laptop Fixie rescues (and who, obviously, becomes her love interest), goes back to his girlfriend a little often for my taste. Which is sad, because otherwise the Fixie/Seb dynamic is quite enjoyable and really quite funny. Still, the poor girl was clearly under a lot of pressure with her family and the store, so I get some of her behavior there. As for Ryan, I'm not so sure what her excuse was!

Still, this book wins you over with time. Fixie is an engaging character and really, rather endearing. She can't help but be who she is and she really can't help whom she is surrounded by (except Ryan--let's just all agree he's awful). When Seb enters the scene, things become more funny, and things pick up as Fixie starts to grow into her own skin. This growth is a Kinsella staple, and she does it well. There's moments of her trademark humor, as well.

Overall, this one is predictable but sweet, and once I got past some of Fixie's issues, I enjoyed it. It's a light, quick read.

Dumb fun
It seems like if you put Ryan Reynolds in a film lately, throw in a bit of humour and voiceovers, it’s a decent recipe for a pretty good film and this is exactly what 6 Underground pulls off.

This is an action film that doesn’t take itself too seriously. It’s full of over the top action and lots of off the cuff quips and humour, I’ll readily admit to chuckling quite a lot watching this and this is mainly due to Ryan Reynolds. The rest of the cast are alright, but if it wasn’t Reynolds then this probably wouldn’t have worked very well. The film itself looks good, right from the opening scenes in Florence - I’m a little shocked they managed to get away with filming those scenes in such a historical and old school city, but it was definitely the real place as they couldn’t fake sets that look that identical to the real place! And yes this is a Michael Bay film and you can tell from some of the action and hilariously over the top deaths, but I actually thought that in comparison with some of his earlier films, this is fairly understated for Michael Bay. I do think this drags a little in places (in between the action scenes) and gets a little convoluted at the beginning with the differing time frames, but overall this is a fairly decent action film from Netflix for a change.

We are getting closer to the festive season and Christmas comes a little early with the new film from Ryan Hendrick, Lost at Christmas.

This quaint film is one that work is one that works very well with its subdued pace and comedic moments as Jen and Rob attempt to get to Glasgow in Jen’s Ex’s stolen car, only to find themselves stuck without transport and arriving in a snowed in at the ClacHaig Inn where they learn more about each other as they stay there while they wait for the roads to clear.

Visually impressive
Trying to follow the original Blade Runner is a difficult task, but Denis Villeneuve has done a fantastic job. This is one of the most visually impressive films I've seen all year, and it has the music and score to match. It's not an all out sci-fi as expected, but more a slow burning detective story.

Ryan Gosling is surprisingly good in the lead role, I've never been much of a fan of his until now but he does well. Harrison Ford is perhaps a little underused, and I wasnt a huge fan of Jared Leto and his character.

My only criticism would be it felt a little too long. I'm sure they could've cut a few of the scenes down to a slightly more acceptable length to avoid the nearly 3 hour runtime.

Ryan Reynolds is even more assured in the role he was born to play. (3 more)
The jokes are relentless and full of the pop culture references and meta four wall breaks you'd expect from Deadpool.
Josh Brolin is great as Cable. Stoic and monosyllabic without being boring.
Zazie Beetz is brilliant as Domino. The portrayal of her Luck superpower is great and her back and forth with Deadpool matches the comics pretty well.
Vanessa is under served a little. As she was in the first film. (1 more)
You could argue some of the structure is too similar to the first film. Cab rides to battles etc.
Solid sequel full of meta laughs and some surprising emotional depth

Watched today in a packed cinema which doesn't happen often this year but this one definitely was full anyway the movie itself based on the well known children's doll barbie it starts off with a nod 2001 a space odyssey won't say anymore on that part plus u have helen mirren as the narrator of the movie and then the movie the really start robbies barbie getting up meeting all the barbies and there are alot as there's alot of Kens especially Ryan gosling Ken who thinks he's got a chance with barbie and for some reason they have to visit the real world and I won't say anymore u will have to watch the movie
This wouldn't normally be my type of movie but I did laugh thruout the movie it is cheesey but also fun robbie was born to play barbie I don't think no one else could same goes to gosling as Ken shout out goes to kate mckinnon who steals every scene she's in.
Overall good movie not sure if some of the scenes are okay for little ones but older ones will find it ok

Dull
I'm so glad I didn't watch this film at the cinema. I don't think I could've gotten through it without falling asleep, it's that dull and drawn out.

Visually this film looks brilliant, the space scenes especially look great. It also has a very good cast, although unsurprisingly most appear to have been sidelined in favour of Ryan Gosling who is pretty average at best. This film may have been slightly more enjoyable had they gotten someone a little more charismatic in the lead role. I'm just very thankful for Corey Stoll as Aldrin for putting a little life into this! The main problem though is that it is far too long, drawn out and melodramatic, and spends too much time on the earth scenes and build up. They could have easily cut a lot of this out, speed up the pace and knock half an hour off the runtime without any noticeable issues. It isn't really helped though by the fact that we all know how this story turns out (spoiler - he walks on the moon at the end), so there's little suspense or tension and makes for rather a dull film.

I think I found the informative videos made for tourists to watch at Kennedy Space Center more entertaining than this film.

Totally agree. I found the documentary "Apollo 11" much more entertaining than this.
