Bonnie and Clyde (1967)
Bonnie and Clyde (1967)
1967 | Action, Classics, Drama

"There’s Bonnie and Clyde. That’s a film that kind of started the new wave in the ’70s. That was incredible. I saw that when I was in about the eighth grade, I think. Those characters, and also the history of Bonnie and Clyde, you know… it was something new. I remember, in fact, Bonnie and Clyde came out in either late Spring or early Summer, and then it was pulled. I think it flopped when it came out, and then they brought it back out in the Fall. I mean, I loved it when I first saw it; then they brought it back out in the Fall and it was a huge success."

Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope (1977)
Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope (1977)
1977 | Fantasy, Sci-Fi

"Star Wars reminds me of my mother, who didn’t let me see color movies until I was 12. I was raised on Alexander Nevsky and Chaplin and all of these insane movies that would just put a 10-year-old to sleep quicker than a shack of sheep. But Star Wars was my first departure from that rule, and it just blew my mind. It was the first color film I saw, and it just knocked me out. I don’t think I ever forgave my mother after I saw that film. But also just the kind of iconoclastic myth retelling that combined with science fiction, which has always been huge to me."

Awkwafina recommended Best in Show (2000) in Movies (curated)

Best in Show (2000)
Best in Show (2000)
2000 | Comedy

"It comes down to my specific brand of comedy – I really enjoy comedy that takes things to different places. Best in Show had already been out when I saw it, and it was the first improv sketch film I saw – it was my first mockumentary. And I noticed that the way that they do it is just so amazing. I was in love with Catherine O’Hara and Eugene Levy, who are amazing in A Mighty Wind as well. But Best in Show is so good because it was so evocative of a time and a place, this dog show that goes on, and I’d never seen, like I said, a mockumentary, I’d never seen improv."

When I saw this on NetGalley I immediately loved the cover and when I read the synopsis I quickly jumped on it. I was so disappointed as it was boring and quite honestly I found myself getting confused and lost with the story line. I simply had no connection with this read.

Original Horror
Before the death traps and gore of the Saw films we had this. Quite low budget and that went under the radar somewhat, but if you enjoy quirky Horror films with a puzzle element this is for you.

High expectations, slow burn.
The first 2 episodes of this series were a lot slower than some had expected, but that is pretty normal to my mind.
The series really hit its stride in the third episode onwards: we saw some epic battle scenes and some good old political intrigue and back-stabbing.

Hmm!
Don't get me wrong this is a storyline that needs to be shared and saw more and understood more than anything else!
I just didn't find this film as good as i probably should! It was a confusing watch at times.
I honestly can't make my mind up about this!

This book takes place prior to Rogue One (obviously) and gives more insight into Baze and Chirrut's friendship, and it also serves as their introduction to Saw Gerrera. It also gives more information about Jedha, and the temples. If you want some background information, this is a good little book to read.

Violent and oh so good.
I first saw the ads for Vikings right before the show premiered and from the first episode I was HOOKED!
From start to finish each episode is a roller coaster the characters are all really interesting, the costumes are amazing, and the setting and props are even better.
