Well, that was disappointing. The stories were only mildly interesting, almost to the point of boring. It wasn't scary at all, and I get spooked relatively easily. The most interesting episode was the 'witch' episode in Massachusetts. Even the episode about Elizabeth Balthory wasn't all that interesting.

"This book is so raw and true to the feelings of abandonment when a mate ups and leaves that it is a bit scary. I especially appreciate Ferrante’s clear-eyed depiction of the abandoned mother with the snarly children who don’t understand and don’t care either."

Satanic Rituals and sweet baby goats
Could have used more Satanic theatricality. If you’re going there, really go for it. (1 more)
The demise of characters at the end felt corny.

I’d recommend this to anyone. It’s horror, but it’s not scary at all.

I would describe this as a nose dive, at the start i was fully on board. I thought this was going to be the first tom cruise film i actually like, and then it go wierd... Boring... and just plain stupid.
The first half was good and fun, scary at times when the zombie outbreak happens...
And i have issues with a skeleton swimming, i feel like it would just sink and not be able to swim without skin to cup the water?

Oh lordy! Although I think I would actually prefer if they had half the film with Tom Cruise as the lead then Brendan Fraser steps in and says "Move aside little kid, I've got this" *stares as the Mummy woman* "I really hate Mummy's" *Shotgun to the face*

Can be very scary for young viewers (0 more)
I remember seeing this in the movie theater when I was a young girl I at first was mesmerized by the mystics they we sweet and kind but when the skeksi came on I found myself terrified as a young kid I found myself going from hiding my face to amazement. As I grew older this movie became one of my absolute favorite along with labyrinth and the neverending story! Can be very scary for young viewers but a treat for those at an age where they can properly enjoy it without being scared

Surprisingly scary
I need to be frankly honest, last night was the first time I ever watched this film and I'm a little ashamed to admit it.

As far as classic horrors go, this one is pretty good. Yes it is a typical 80s film and to say it's a little dated would be an understatement. It is surprisingly scary and creepy, and the effects are very impressive for the time. It does go a little bonkers in parts, to the point where it had me wondering if it was a dream sequence as opposed to the actual film (it wasn't), but its still a very enjoyable film.

Modern movie making techniques helped to improve the last third or so of the movie. Overall it's not terrible, just totally unnecessary

How about 99 out of 100 remakes are crap! I can think of only a handful that are good.

I didn't get a chance to see this in cinema but I bought the DVD for this as soon as it was released as I was really excited for it. It was a very good movie and I really liked it. It was funny and the actors did a great job. I find the plot very interesting and I can't wait to see what happens in part 2. The only thing is I didn't find it very scary, not sure if it's just me, but I found more parts funny than scary in this one. Hopefully the next one is a bit scarier as well as just as good and funny.
