Loved this book. Expertly switches between being suspenseful, funny, moving, and downright scary. Packed with little inside references to other books that somehow only serve to make it feel more special, and I was highly amused by the little trick the author frequently used with chapter titles. The lead is highly likeable, the circumstances she is thrust to a perfect blend of frightening and awe-inspiring, and the villain is easily one of the most memorable in years. Anyone with even a passing interest in true works of horror should not miss this epic book.

A decent Thriller
A very entertaining thriller which is slightly weird and very creepy. Apparently entirely filmed on an iPhone. This does make the visuals look a little less polished but also enhances the overall feel of the film. I wouldn't say it's scary but it does have a slight claustrophobic feel as the main character seems unable to do much about her situation. There are a couple of plot holes you might need to ignore. Overall though a good thriller and something different to the norm.

Watched another creepy "horror" flick on Netflix called "The Eyes of My Mother". It was in black and white and was in both English and some little Portuguese (though it took place in the US). VERY strange story about a girl growing up in a quietly unhealthy environment and how it affects her. Not really as "scary" as it is mesmerizing to watch. No flash. No fanfare. The story just unfolds in one monotone-ish style, but keeps you watching to see what will happen next. Worth a watch!

Disappointed
So I'm a big horror fan and I also happen to have a fear of clowns, but I loved the way this film was hyped up and so I thought I might actually get a decent scare (which is rare with films these days), and so I went to the Cinema to watch it, the storyline is still kept there which I love however the film was very disappointing concidering the hype leading up to it, the film and storyline itself is brilliant, but zero scares at all.

I found this one on Amazon. It's a haunted house style "horror" movie. The acting is pretty weak and the story is not scary or anything even remotely close to it. The cinematography is mediocre. It's about a pregnant woman who keeps having strange things happen in her new house and no one else does or believes her and they tell her she's crazy. They have one character try to explain things toward the end of the movie but it's an extremely weak explanation. Overall this movie just isn't very good. NOT worth a watch.

Binge watchers dream!
I I begrudgingly started watching this after it was recommended by several friends. I wasn’t expecting much as I as sup it was a series remake of house on haunted hill (it isn’t).
I was pleasantly surprised, however, & binge watched the series in 2 days.
It’s got some good scares, a great story and a fab cast. Worth a watch!

Honestly, I wanted so much more from this one. I waited months for it to come to theaters, then rushed out to see it, only to feel a little meh afterwards. The story itself was good and kept me invested, but the horror just wasn't really there for me. I felt it relied too much on jump scares and the rest of what was supposed to be scary felt corny to me especially the ending. It was fine, but I probably won't be watching it again.

Well done
This one surprised me. Wasn't sure what to expect as it was under the "horror" section. It's not really a 'scary' movie but it was very entertaining. Started off a little slow but once it got going there were plenty of twists and turns throughout. The cinematography was good and the acting was done really well. This is another fine example of a movie not needing a huge budget to be done right. If you're a fan of crime/thriller style movies this one is gor you. Really worth a watch!

The Grudge's Ring II
The Grudge 2- is a decent sequel, if you like the first one, than you will like this one. This one is scary, horrorfying and spooky. Not to mention creepy.

The Plot: A young woman (Amber Tamblyn) encounters a terrible curse while searching for her missing sister (Sarah Michelle Gellar) in Tokyo. The evil imprecation fills its victims with murderous rage, but it also brings together the diverse group to unlock its secret and save their lives.

Overall it is a good movie and a decent sequel.

I initially read this book so I could watch the film with Daniel Radcliffe. Let's just say... I never need to see that film, this book was enough.
The novel was atmospheric, and well written. When I finally reached the end, I told myself, whew, that wasn't that scary!
Then, the end. It caught me off guard, and it still creeps me out to this day. From what I understand, it's different from the movie. This novel is definitely worth the read, and isn't that long, from what I remember.
