Ahhh part of the Rat pack in this great teen love story. Ringwald and Hall are funny and dramatic in this love story of a girl who wants nothing more than the hottest guy in school and Hall as the extreme king of the nerds who really wants to to be popular and be noticed. It kind of has a Cinderella kind of feel to it with out the glass slipper. This directors movies is a lot of what I grew up on. Sixteen candles id full love laughs and crazy family fun.

This is the book I always wanted to write but lack the talent. I am glad [Brenda Z. Guiberson] wrote it so I can share it with my students. I have a fascination with disasters and have since I was young. Unfortunately most of the books about them is not written for a middle school reader. I have had some of the books [Guiberson] used to research on my class shelves for years with few takers. This is just the type of book needed to get them reading non fiction and enjoy it.

[Storm Warriors] by [Elisa Carbone] has been on my reading 'pile' for sometime. As a middle school teacher I love to add books to my library. This one is definitely a gem.
The story is about the Pea Island Life Saving Station. These stations were what was to become the Coast Guard. What makes this station's story unique is it was fully manned by African Americans at a time when Jim Crow was rearing his ugly head.
I would love to read this one with my seventh graders.

[Kristen Simmons] continues the extraordinary dystopian story of Chase and Ember in [Breaking Point]. The concepts of what the US government has become in these books is nightmarish. The evolution of the characters who are coming of age in these books is thought provoking. It was hard for me to put the book down because I became so engaged with Ember and ChaseÂ’s struggle. I recommend this book for anyone who likes a well paced story with engaging characters. I will also recommend these books for my school library.

Alot better than expected
Wasn't expecting to enjoy the film as much as i did. Comedy and fight scenes were brilliant. The scenes of a small nature made the film even better. It was obvious who the bad guy was to be in the film but how they portrayed him was very poor, kinda your basic old school villain, not what the film needed. Then there was the big Thomas..... loved it lol

a short, illustrated book with supporting (teachers/parents) questions. This subject matter may not be seen by all as appropriate for the apparent target age of this book, however, having such a resource to turn to in order to support an individual questioning their gender at a young age is an invaluable resource. Sensitively approached, from a "safe" point of view of a family the main character is encouraged and supported throughout.
Definitely a book to have in all school and alongside medical professionals who work in this field.

With beautiful illustrations and interesting subject matter, this book is a win-win with curious children. and although it is quite short, it fills a child with wonder and lets them take in what they want before progressing to more challenging reading material. With appropriate technical language used, this book would be good in a school library and would work well for project work as well as curious individuals.

Interesting storyline
Dealt realistically with LGBT issues
Follows the life of a male high school student, Simon, who is currently disguising that he is gay. He then finds comfort in an online friend who is struggling with the same problem. Simon then endeavours to find out who his online recipient is, while all along trying to keep his sexuality a secret.
I enjoyed watching popular film with an LGBT main character.
Simon is a lovable and an easily relatable teenager.

Wow, if you ever need a reality check about how hard your life probably isn't this book is a way to do it. Not only do you read about an amazing survival story, that honestly I have no idea how this man did survive but you also learn about more than what a regular school history lesson would teach you about. My heart just hurt for this man on so many occasions throughout this book. How he continued to go on and get through everything is amazing! I would definitely reccomend this book.

I was already a Mindy Kaling fan before reading this book. But now, I feel like she's a friend in my head. I loved that in explaining her experience with bullying at school, she referenced "Heathers", rather than the typical go to of "Mean Girls". That alone made me like her more. And although I have never written, directed, and starred in my own play or done anything like Mindy career wise, as a person, I was able to relate to her experiences and struggles.
I will definitely be reading her second book.
