Swim for it
A master diver/rescuer for the coast guard Ben Randall (Costner) has an accident at sea and is asked to teach A school cadets (Coast Guard enlistees) the right and wrong ways to save someone and survival skills. A cadet Jake Fischer (Kutcher) has a troubled past from a small town and is a world class swim champ is arrogant and is put to the test by Randall. Will he have to swim for it or be a fish out of water.

A good look into the way Coast Guard divers/rescuers are trained and what they have to endure. The story line is pretty good and the movie dosen't have a dull moment

EPIC
Tom Hanks plays Forrest Gump plays a young man who is very slow but, smart growing up in the south during the 60's with his mom (Field). His life through school, the Vietnam war where he befriends his LT (Sinise), his lust for the love of his life Jenny (wright), to coming home and becoming the shrimp king of the world and just on more historical adventures.

The movie is kind of set to Billy Joel's "We didn't start the fire" as a ton of these historical events take place during this movie in which forrest has some connection with. The movie aslo has one of the best 60's soundtracks set to it of all time.

The games a foot!
A great all too little known film from '86. Set in Sherlock Holmes school days setting the story background as he becomes the worlds most famous detective. I remember seeing this at the cinema and it is just the sort of film full of action and adventure everyone should love. Steven Spielberg was involved in the production and it shows. This film has a feel to it like the Mummy and Indiana Jones films. It also has some very good SFX for the time, including very early use of cgi. If you have missed this film then you are missing out, track it down!

The first books in Stuart Gibbs's three series with Simon and Schuster in one paperback collection. You've got Belly Up, about the murder of a hippo at the new mega FunJungle. Then you'll join Spy School with Ben. Finally, you'll journey to the first colony on the moon and solve a murder there.

All three of these books are delightful. The characters are strong and the plots move forward quickly with great twists and turns. No matter what your age, you'll turn these pages as quickly as possible and then move on to the other books in these series.

I am a proud member of the Penn's Sunday School Congregation. I look forward to this show dropping each week and listening again on Wednesday when we get our second dose. The topics vary greatly and their is never a dull moment.

As someone who has been listening since day one, it has been amazing to watch the structure of the show, the topics on the show change over time. Though PSS started as an atheist podcast it has changed to be so much more.

Give it the three episode challenge and see if you are not hooked.

I was in grade school when the events of Columbine happened. There was no way to escape the horrendous details that happened at Columbine. I still have snapshot memories associated with the news reports. The events at Columbine have always made me queasy but I have always wanted to learn more.

This book was horrifying but beautifully researched. I have to admit, I've owned this book for many years and I finally sat down and read/listened to it. Honestly, this was one of the hardest books I have ever listened to.

I would recommend this book to many people. It's a fascinating read for any fan of true crime, criminology, social psychology, and general sociology.

Another Potter
Harry Potter. The small boy with the lightning-shaped scar and the broken glasses made my childhood days magical and filled with hope that someday my letter to Hogwarts would come.

Alas my dream never came true, although every time there is post I secretly pray there is a piece of parchment sent to me by the wizarding school, apologising for it being late (11 years late!) that there was a clerical error made by one of the owls but if I would accept they would love to have me at Hogwarts.

Naturally, I would not say yes the first time...I do love being chased!

World of Crash
Remember the old Crash games? Where it was rather simple to complete the levels.
Well think again about the new and improved ?
Some levels you can comomete and think oh wow i did it with no deaths and all my lives!
And some bring on gamer rage!
The graphics on the new game is amazing and it's like you can actually reach out and pet Crash. Which in all fairness I think everyone would do if we had the oppertunity!
This game is recommended by myself to all of those old school gamers who want to bring back memories of the old days!

Why didn't I watch this sooner???
If you're like me, your high school years were not perfect and you always felt a bit like a weirdo or an outsider. If so, you'll enjoy this movie. It's hard not to love these characters. They seem vapid at the start of the film but towards the end, you see their love for each other and the kindness in their hearts. Throughout the movie, you see their friendship and support of each other. It's a sweet movie. Being a child of the 80s, I love the 80s references. Janeane Garofalo's character is funny in a dark way. And, OMG, there's everything to love about Alan Cumming. I adore him.

Stylized 80s Italian horror at its finest
It's hard to believe Jennifer Connelly was ever that young!

Director Dario Argento's interesting tale of a young American girl with unusual powers who comes to attend a European boarding school is interesting and very unusual at the same time. After a series of murders, the girl has to decide if her abilities will help her or it's just time to get out.

The film's rock score is intense and backs up the ominous visuals and striking sets and lighting. Certainly campy by today's standards, it still is an entertaining watch for those who enjoy out-of-the-box storytelling.
