This was my first book by this author, as well as being the first in her Carlisle Family series.
Although enjoyable, it's not a story I would be likely to pick up again. Early on in the book, the hero sees the heroine meet her mother in a restaurant - historical blunder there, as that type of establishment didn't exisit in that period.
I did like the hero, but felt that the ending was unsatisfactory. There were plenty of loose threads to tie up, but I felt it could have been handled better; I wanted to revel in the satisfaction of the villain and villainess getting their comeuppance but didn't quite get that, and the reunion of the hero and heroine pretty much decended into farce! It was too much.
Enjoyable enough, but I'm not tempted enough to pick up the sequel.

Following on from the events in the first Bongo Fury book, this novella once again follows the music shop owner Jimmy Black as he unwillingly gets mired in the underworld of Northern Ireland. After the events of the first book, a silent struggle for power among the criminal elements is escalating and people are dying. All Jimmy wants to do is make sure he isn't one of them.
As with the first book the charm of this sequel is in the leading character. Wry, witty, foul mouthed with an eye for the darkly humorous observation, having Jimmy once again show us his world is very welcome. Together with the twists and turns of the plot (a little less straightforward than the first novel) this makes a cracking quick read that combines noir thriller and laugh out loud humour.

Poke-tastic!
The only good film based on a game, ever! Both fun and a little crazy, if is good because it does not take itself too seriously. Ryan Reynolds once again stealing the show, a perfect casting and brings is own wit tho the picture.
Making a live action Pokemon film was going to be a challenge, but they have done a great job, from showing the world of life with Pokemon, to the more realistic looking pokemon, all in a gritty mondern film noir style setting.
It is just nerdy enough to keep fans happy, and has enough Reynolds and jokes to keep everyone else on their seats.
A great film, and lovely to see something that is not a sequel or a remake. It certainly is working hard to be the very best, like no video game film ever was.

After multiple failed attempts at terminator movies since the epic T2 judgement day, the franchise has consistently been tarnished of its unique credibility with only a rewatchable (imo) sequel in terminator : salvation.
Since the announcement of Linda Hamilton reprising her role of Sarah Connor I have been eager to see the outcome & I am very happy with what I saw, especially when it comes to taking into consideration its predecessors (excluding T1 &T2 of course).
Linda Hamilton plays her role as if she'd only taken a short break & with Schwarzeneggers T-800 learning to adapt to human life allows for great character encounters with the T-800 killing John Connor 22 years prior.
Fantastic movie, worth the wait.

It's hard to find a PG movie that doesn't have any major swear words in it nowadays, so huge thumbs up for that! It was a little cheesy with some of the dialogue in parts, and you could easily draw direct correlation between things in this movie, and things in some of the other major modern classics. However, it didn't make the movie bad. I don't think it deserved all of the awful reviews that it was getting while in the theater. It's a PG movie, based on the characters from Sleeping Beauty. I'm not sure what people expected. I thought it was a cute film, overall, especially considering that it's a sequel. Man, I love Maleficent's wings! I'm glad I finally found the time to watch it with my family. I don't feel cheated out of my time at all.

Very disappointing
The first film The Boy was a pleasant surprise and much better than I expected it to be. I was quite surprised when this sequel popped up out of nowhere. I can understand why it didn't have much publicity. This is the film I feared the first one would be.
Boring jump scares, loud noises, no real atmosphere, it felt way longer than the 86min run time. It was dull, didn't use the iconic location of the first film much and just fades badly in comparison to the first film. It also does take a different approach to the first film. Make sure you see @The Boy (2016) but steer clear of this, that's the only rule you need to follow.
