Ross (3284 KP) rated Mindhunter - Season 1 in TV

Superb series
Fantastic series documenting a fictionalised account of the ground-breaking FBI agents who tried to define a system of using psychology and profiling to try and identify what kind of person may have committed a crime.
Includes portrayals of some famous serial killers, Edmond Kemper's is sublime, as they are interviewed to try and assess what drove them to commit their atrocious crimes (spoiler: it's usually their mums and absent dads).
Excellently acted, Jonathan Groff is a perfect antisocial, driven investigator who doesn't pull his punches and shares a lot of personality traits with those he is analysing.
This series was a gentle introduction to their methodology and starting to use it to identify who may have committed crimes - this is done at a good pace, rather than getting drawn into a "one crime per episode" mentality.

Not having read the first in this series, I really wasn't sure what to expect and I was pleasantly surprised.
This book is full of strong characters that grow on you as the story develops. They are a disparate bunch of people from various walks of life but they work well together. It did take me a while to get to grips with the story; it was quite confusing to begin with but I think that's because I haven't read the first in the series however, I stuck with it and found it quite absorbing the more it developed.
Full of action and tension, this is a good read and I look forward to reading more in the series so thanks to BooksGoSocial and NetGalley for my copy in return for an honest, unbiased and unedited review.

Good Dragon scenes (1 more)
Fits in with Game of Thrones well
Slow paced (2 more)
Very political
Time jump
Very familiar
I'm a big fan of Game of Thrones so having a chance to view a spin off series is a no brainer.
This is a big series 10 episodes mostly around an hour long. Unfortunately there was no where near enough action for me. The first few episodes are good but then it jumps to around 10 years later with different actors playing some of the characters.
As usual there is a lot of political views around who should be the heir to the Throne and who is with or against the various Houses. Just creates a bit of a lull around the middle episodes before picking up again for the last 2 episodes. Hopefully a second series will have more action.

I loved this book. Wishing the series had been longer. Was extremely happy when I emailed the author and she replied. All three books made me feel like I was a part of the story. Highly recomend it!

Great idea behind the story (1 more)
Freaky photos
Decent?
I did enjoy the book and finished the series. It's worth the read but not hitting it out of the park like it had the potential to.

My FAVORITE of the series. I had to keep putting it down because i didn't want it to end. It had me crying laughing and feeling a whole ton of feeling. Love Sherrilyn Kenyon and her Dark Hunters!
