I really hoped it would be better
Tier 1 vintage disaster films Towering Inferno and The Poseidon Adventure. Tier 2 the Airport franchise. This would be tier 3 for sure. B movie producer legend Roger Corman financed this very low budget looking disaster flick starring Rock Hudson and Mia Farrow.
SFX were bad including Styrofoam made to look like big rocks of snow and huge fake snow flakes. Acting wasn't bad, but was left wanting more peril and even B movie goodness.
Oh well.

Yesterday was the first time I've ever watched this film to completion. Normally, I always catch it with the whole jell-o shaking on the spoon scene. I can definitely see why it was cutting edge at the time, the SFX were pretty good for 1993. The story was interesting, and I definitely think I would have had nightmares had I seen it when it came out in the 90s.
My one thought after watching this...why would you need to follow up this movie with any other films?

Paranoid Android
The cast is made up of three leads which do a great job of keep the paranoia building in this story about and android looking after the last woman on the planet. Obviously a ls there are three characters in this not is all that goes to plan.
Not to give anything away but as soon as chatacter number three appears so does predictability.
It looks slick and as mentioned its a classy piece of popcorn sci-fi. Is it a must watch... unfortunately not.

Great sets and Sfx for the locations
Another good British Zombie film
A decent low budget British Zombie film. It starts very well and was similar to 28 days later with some of the opening scenes. The 2nd half is a little slower as a few survivors from a military base try to protect a girl who could hold the cure. I didn't like the ending but overall the film has some good elements.

Great Martial arts film
Finally caught this yesterday. Can't say I've heard of the character before but the trailer looked good. The fights are great, some of the best martial arts I've seen in a long while, the bus fight was cool. Some fights reminded me of the style used in @Hero (2004) There are many cool characters and creatures that appear in this leading up to a big battle at the end. Along with plenty of humour along the way this is a fun film.

A classic Horror
This is talked about as one of the best horror films ever made and a timeless classic. It is very good, it has some truly memorable scenes that are still pretty far out 35 years after it was made!!! It has some nice effects to, no CGI here and the creature in its forms looks great. Set in a great location for a horror, a strong cast, good director this can't fail to impress. If you've not seen it yet put it to the top of your want to see list.

More average than legendary
Having got into the Arrow and then the Flash series I thought this could be rather good with several characters from each show teaming up. Unfortunately the plot of not using the other shows main characters... They would cause too much of a ripple in the time line, or studio fees... Does raise some questions, but it gets overwhelming with too many characters and feels like it's target audience might be younger than the other shows. Overall it is less than the sum of it's parts.

Cool new characters
Links well to the older films
Deja vu
It's great to see a Star Wars film back on the big screen. It has plenty of action, a good mix of new characters with some old favourites. The Sfx and battle scenes are great. The only disappointment for me, without giving too much away, was that it seemed to take key plotlines and scenes almost straight from the original 3 films and reused them again. Still it's a fun entertaining film and well made to keep the fans happy.

Back to basics
A cool addition to the series which surpasses the AVP films. This is more back to basics to what made the first film so enjoyable but with more Predators and more people to hunt. You only get to see a bit of the alien planet they are located on which was a surprise. However there are some cool fights and good action scenes, the SFX are pretty good. It's predictable but it will please those who liked the original film so much. The second best film to feature the Predator creature to date!
