Alright, but missing something
This movie was visually great, couldn't fault it, the SFX where stunning and the acting was top notch, but the story was too confusing at time

First off the visuals of this movie where sublime, stunning, it felt like I where in the roaring 20's New York, the acting was why you expect from an Academy Award Winner Eddie Redmayne, I liked the chemistry between him and Dan Foglers character, who places a muggle named Jacob, who is kind of thrown into the magical world and is forced to just go with it,

Right now the story, to be there was too many things going off at once, it's like they wanted to set up a universe right off the bat, and not ease you into it, the "Finding of the Beasts" made sense, you could have just had a movie about that, but it started adding in other plot lines, e.g. Ezra Millers story, which just went off the rails a Little, and the added ending was pointless (If you haven't seen it then I won't spoil it)

But this movie is worth a watch for the visuals alone

Funnier than expected
I'd expected to hate this film and although it a little bit ridiculous, I found a lot funnier than I ever thought it'd be.

Some of the one liners and wisecracks verging on hilarious, although they're not as frequent as id like. It's laughably bad in parts and that almost adds to its charm. It doesn't take itself too seriously. This is part of the problem though too, I struggled to tell if this was a spoof of the original show, if it was making fun or if it was trying to be serious as it flitted about. If they'd have concentrated on making this a loving mick-take of the show, I think it could've ended up being quite good. There's a scene over the end credits with the girls discussing why the swimsuits are as they are, and that's the sort of thing that should have been in the main film.

The only thing I really didn't get was the CGI and sfx. Did they purposely make it look really bad in homage to the show, or did was the budget spent elsewhere? It didn't work, it just looked naff.

Spiderman far from home sees tom holland return as ultimate Spiderman for ps2....no wait....tom holland returns as peter parker aka Spiderman who once again does a great job at avoiding nick fury and his feelings, but squeezes into a new array of suits, while trying to enjoy a school trip and mourn the loss of his tech savvy father figure Tony Stark.
While trying to balance the life of a hero and the life of a teen life every hero (lol) the arrival of a mysterious new "hero" dubbed mysterio by parkers class mates, things are quite what they seem and as the lives of everyone of his classmates come under threat, it's upto spidey to uncover the truth and figure out how to use his peter tingle haha.

A great movie that does the Endgame aftermath some justice.

Fantastic SFX, great story formed, great easter eggs and references.

No spoilers. Just a quick review this time round. I really enjoyed this film, it works well with the tone of MCU post Endgame.

The cinematography is amazing and very well do. Worth paying extra to watch in IMAX. All the actors perform their characters outstanding and Jake Gyllnhall is amazing as Mysterio. Showing again another Interesting marvel character in a newer MCU light.

There are plenty of laughs as there have always been with spidey on the big screen. There is just something about Holland that makes him the perfect Spider-man, cheeky and awkward, noble and cocky. Just enough broodiness to be relatable. Unlike certain other animal theme super heroes (not Ant-Man).

Marvel however like DC do love a good old nod to the past and fans of the Raimi Trilogy will get a kick of the mid credits scene.

All I can say is bring on phase 4, on and marvel/ Disney give us the pairing we all want. Holland and Reynolds

Welcome to peach trees
Welcome to Mega-City One, a self contained city, with over 400 million citizens where the only law enforcers are the Judge's who are Judge, Jury & executioner. Filled with mega-structures.

Peach Trees is a 200 Floor mega-structure housing tower, the block is home to more than 75,000 citizens & is Notorious for its crime rate.

Whilst investigating a homicide with rookie Judge with a powerful psychic ability legendary Judge Dredd (Karl Urban) becomes the Target of a vicious and violent Hunt by the Ma-Ma clan when she put the tower into Lockdown!

Karl Urban's portrayal of the comic book Legend and his decision to remain faithful to the character made this movie one not to miss and although the box office was not as successful as it should have been, it has become a cult Hit with audiences all over the world.
Dredd is dark, gritty, well thought out, with a great plot fantastic action and gave us a dredd who doesn't remove his helmet.

Highly recommended.

I'm totally new to Dune, I know nothing of the book or the previous film. So I have nothing to compare it to it that sense.
It's visually stunning and on a grand scale, with many wide angle shots to to get a good effect of scale. The design, look and feel of the film, along with Zimmer's score are all quality.
Then to the story which feels like a mix of The Matrix, meets Game of Thrones with a Star Wars setting. For new comers like myself it might be difficult keeping track of who is in alliance with who, as a lot of various faction names appear. The political side of things doesn't get too bogged down though. I did expect bigger and longer action scenes for a film of this scale. What action you do see is very good and the SFX are great.

So to those who are new to Dune it might be a bit of a mixed bag but there is no doubting the quality overall. Roll on part 2.

Super Sonic
Enjoyed the first film recently more than I expected, so hoped this would be as good. I'll just about give it a 7 but would say it's not quite as fun as the first.
We have more characters this time with Tails and knuckles joining in, Carrey is more Robotnik this time round. There are many good ties to the games with the plot, and other little things. It looks great as well especially the big boss battle at the end more like the games.
On the down side Idris Elba doesn't seem to fit the voice for Knuckles. There is less human screen time especially for James Marsden. His friendship with Sonic in the first was a great part of the film. Here it feels marginalised as Tails is the new buddy. Just not as funny as the first for older viewers. Still quite similar so if you liked the original you should get a blast from this.

The Cloverfield Paradox (2018)
The Cloverfield Paradox (2018)

Totally unnecessary
What have we done to deserve yet another Cloverfield film? The first one was a surprise hit, but all these sequels/spin offs or whatever you want to call them are doing is cheapening the original.

This has a great cast, who are sadly very mis-used. The majority of the characters are undeveloped and those that aren't have slightly vague and irrational motivations. The sfx are okay although i think some of the physical props and costumes could have been better. The main issue with this film though is the plot. It is a little bit ridiculous and very confused. It uses alternate dimensions and realities as a general explanation for a load of weird things going on, which is such a poor justification and doesn't work. It seems to throw in as many sci-fi film cliches as it possibly can along with some oddly placed humour.

And the link to Cloverfield itself is there, albeit inferred until right at the end. And it doesn't quite go so far as explaining how this fits with the original film timeline wise and just isn't necessary. This is yet another stunning example of a completely pointless sequel/spin off.

The invisible enemy
The first thing I thought of when I saw the trailer for this was it reminded me of @Sleeping with the Enemy (1991) To be honest it has more in common with that classic thriller than other invisible man films. The opening sequence is very similar and I assume inspired by it. The acting is very good as our victim of domestic violence goes through an entire range of emotions with many thinking she is crazy. The SFX scenes are pretty good and look believable. I only noticed after this is billed as a Horror. There are a couple of jump scares and some bloody scenes but it definitely fits a Thriller more closely.
The only down side is some of the science in some scenes just wouldn't make sense in real life, rain hitting a solid object etc.
Must add the score really added to the intensity of many scenes and created a sense of being on a knife edge.
Overall a good enjoyable film. If you like a mix of thriller, with a Sci-fi angle and especially a fan of sleeping with the Enemy, you'll find this a nice surprise.

So I have been play this for while.

Totally love the game, one of the best Resident Evils I have played. The graphics and SFX set a very tense atmosphere. The graphics in particular are very crisp and it almost looks real. This is true for Baker family and other Humans you meet.

Monsters less look realistic in comparison. Though do give great jump scare. Not sure on their official name but I call the "Venomites", The tall tendrily creatures that the Bakers seem to have are creepy as hell.

The puzzles are you standard Resident Evil fare, which is good and really enjoyable for fans of the older entries in particular.

The boss fights are something else, So far I fought Ma & Pa Baker. These were tough to beat. Using a lot of different attacks to keep you guessing. No QTEs, just good old wits, skill and hoping your ammo does not run out.

I particularly like the story, keeps you guessing and wondering if and how this fits into the rest of Resident Evil universe.

I recommend this to anyone who loves a good scary game. Just maybe don't play before bed.
