Peter O'Toole was the bomb in ๐˜—๐˜ฉ๐˜ข๐˜ฏ๐˜ต๐˜ฐ๐˜ฎ๐˜ด, yo. Features elements of a horror movie but fails to actually make a horror movie out of them - spends most of its runtime focusing on the bracing thrills of walking around slowly and looking at stuff, and the heart-clenching horrors of sitting in some lab talking about chemicals and stuff. Dean Koontz is the Dan Brown of horror, ineptly weaving together such laughably idiotic historical appeals (forced to be played straight) for people who don't know they aren't cultured and then doing nothing with them. Also Rose McGowan is either genuinely crap here or she just doesn't care. The sci-fi violence/gore is honestly quite vicious and damn cool for what this is, and there is a noticeable amount of enjoyable stupidity to be had (terrified Affleck pleading for his life to a golden retriever, O'Toole screaming about how some ancient extraterrestrial-demon shapeshifting oil killed the dinosaurs, etc) but it's too slapdash for its own good. Gets right into it then takes multiple breaks to sit on its ass, not awful but also not worth any sort of time, tbh. The Blob for those thirsty for cardboard vapidity. *Please* just watch ๐˜๐˜ข๐˜ฏ๐˜ช๐˜ด๐˜ฉ๐˜ช๐˜ฏ๐˜จ ๐˜ฐ๐˜ฏ 7๐˜ต๐˜ฉ ๐˜š๐˜ต๐˜ณ๐˜ฆ๐˜ฆ๐˜ต instead.

And these dragons are definitely hotblooded.

But as the sexy dragons show Melissa all the perks of being their mate, Melissa is also uncovering the dangerous secrets of the dragon world. If she isn't willing to risk everything, their chances at a happily ever after might just go up in flames.


For a short story it wasnโ€™t too bad at all! Terry Bolryder definitely has a style that is easy to read and also enjoyable! The sex scenes were written well and learning about the dragons is interesting. Recommended if you enjoy a fast paced shifter book.

Once upon a time, I read Star Wars slash fanfiction. That was a lot better than this. I don't quite know what the author was going for here, as the story leans too far into plot and exposition to be a "romance" novel (not a bad thing, if the plot wasn't just a vehicle for the romance), and the erotica was less than erotic. I've read female authors who could write believable gay characters, but this isn't one of them. These characters interact more like men in Japanese yaoi, which is to say, you could sub one of the men with a woman and have the same story. I would be more generous (considering one character is a shapeshifting alien with no true gender) but her author's bio specifically states she writes gay erotica. So let's be clear: this is gay erotica for women. So if you're a lady who fetishizes gay men, this is in your wheelhouse. If you're a gay man, probably avoid this one, unless you really have a thing for sci-fi and lizardmen.

Circling back around, of course the title is attention grabbing. And the story is short enough to be fun. Both characters are obnoxious, but not so much that you can't sit two or three hours with them. The story employs standard tropes, including using rape as a dramatic crutch. If that's your thing, you'll probably enjoy this and also what's wrong with you?

This throws us straight into the story with Celia and her sisters on trial for murdering a vampire. Only it turns out the vampire was in a bloodlust filled rage at the time and they're let off the charge. Only then they get asked to help solve the problem of the curse on the Master's family that is causing his vampires to fall into the strange rage that can only be cured by death.

During this time she meets an Alpha werewolf, Aric, who tempts her inner tiger. They are drawn to each other time and time again, causing a tension between his pack and herself. They believe as a born werewolf he should be with someone of the same ilk and as Celia's shapeshifting is as the result of a curse that she isn't worthy of him.

I loved Celia and her sisters. The could kick arse with their abilities and luckily they could heal themselves when they got hurt too. Well, Emme could heal them after they threw themselves into whatever trouble they found themselves in.

I liked Gemini and Koda--love interests of Celia's sisters. Liam always seemed to butt in at inopportune times to remind Aric of other things he should be doing instead of spending time with Celia which annoyed me no end.

I found this quite funny. It was my kind of humour and I was chuckling and grinning like a loon for most of my time reading this.

I cannot wait to read more of this series to see what happens between all our couples.
