I have put this book in the dystopian genre because there is a hint of it within these pages. Humans have basically tried to kill each other off using biochemical warfare which has decimated their numbers. The shifters, which were a minority, were immune to most of the chemicals and have since thrived, being able to live off the land and generally in peace.
However, they have their own set of rules regarding alphas, such as when they're old enough, they have to leave their birth pack and start their own, or they have to fight their father for the right to rule. Now Valen loves and honours his father so even though he doesn't want to leave, he abides by their rules. Through circumstance, he meets Aaren who has never seen a shifter before. Aaren lives in a village, guided by his father, where sex is for recreation and gay is something that just isn't mentioned.
There is an instantaneous attraction and reaction between these two when they meet and it just continues to get hotter as we progress through the story. Valen, although having doubts about how to act as an alpha, certainly has no issues in the bedroom... or next to a river or by a tree. Aaren is very happy to learn whatever Valen wants to teach him and learns about himself along the way.
The story is fast-paced and well-written. There are characters to enjoy and those that annoy slightly (sorry goofball!) but it all makes it more 'real'. I loved how the story evolved and became more than just about Aaren and Valen, although they do make a fantastic pair.
Definitely recommended for all fans of MM Paranormal Romance.

Things soon spiral down the crapper when people in our community start dropping like flies. And when demons start showing up in Hollow Cove, it’s up to me to take care of them. Permanently.
Finally!!! A Gorilla shifter! One more to knock of my list of shifters wanted. This was a fun light read! I really enjoyed it after having a few heavy books. I thought the characters were fun and easy to get along with, even the ones you weren’t supposed to like so much. Ronin was my favourite and had me laughing out loud my favourite line “Well, scratch my balls and call me Beryl,” exclaimed Ronin. “The chief’s freakin’ King Kong!”
This had me laugh so much. Like I said a fun easy light read that’s actually written quite well.

The mother was killed, her best friend hated her, the Alpha blamed her, and she became the lowest of the low. Now it is the day that the new generation will transform. Secrets and surprises will rule the day, and Kira is right in the middle!
It turns out there is more to Kira than meets the eye, and the Alpha knew about it all along. Kira is a wolf shifter herself, now known as The Prophetess, who needs to save Wolfkind. Also, she now has multiple mates instead of one. Two of them accept her, but the Alpha's son, her best friend from childhood, rejects her. This may be a mating but Milo, Seth, and Jameson are HER consorts. At the end of the day, they will do anything for HER. What she says, goes. And that includes working through things that they don't necessarily like.
This is a tale of twisted greed, of weak becoming strong, of political and evil machinations, of hope and love. And I loved every word. I finished this book and immediately bought the second, with the third going into my calendar for release day.
A brilliant book that hooked me in. Roll on November for the third book! Absolutely recommended by me.

I love Rebecca Royce and I really like this series this was good and we get to see Azs find his mate. It was a good read and I recommend the series.

CONSORT is the first book of two in the Noble Reckoning Duology and, boy, what it a good start!
Durin is a young fae - not noble and thankful for that small mercy. When he sees a noble fae mercilessly bully and kill a young shifter, he is enraged and works hard to hone his magic into a weapon, determined to enact vengeance on the shifter's behalf. He fulfils his vow but is made to pay in ways he never imagined.
During this time, Rue is trying to hide the fact she has just presented as an Omega. In her pack, that means she will be Alpha Mate and passed around for all the alpha's to share. Funnily enough, that's not a future she wants. So she does the unthinkable. She runs away, and her mother goes with her. They find a place to hide and life seems good.
Fate throws Durin and Rue together and he helps her through her heat, resulting in a pregnancy with Vaegon. If the name sounds familiar then check out Rachel Grey's Unnatural series and you'll find out why. Of course, life isn't easy and neither of them is in an ideal place, so prepare yourself for the cliffhanger because it's a doozy!!!
It isn't all about Rue and Durin though. There's a whole mystery in here too, with the Queen and her wicked ways. The world-building is phenomenal to get everything in and not leave you wanting.
This was a fantastic story that had me hooked from the first page. I really felt for both Rue and Durin and can't wait to see what happens next. Simply wonderful and HIGHLY RECOMMENDED by me.

EVERGREEN DESIRES is the first book in the Wildheart Chronicles and features Beau, a Sasquatch shifter who runs a Christmas tree and Cannabis farm, and Jake, on the run from his abusive ex. Throw in a corrupt politician, and it's all going on.
This is the first release by this author, and it definitely has potential! I loved the descriptions of Beau when he was in his other form, as well as the connection he has with the land. These two were perfectly paired, with neither of them willing to push past the other's boundaries, but also not being shy about stating that they wanted more.
There were a few things that irritated me though. The first was Jake's bank account and inheritance. His abusive ex drains them and nothing is done about it?! Seriously?! Jake tells us how he has nothing, but he won't even file a report to 'try' and get HIS money back? And the whole 'I'm breaking up with you for your own good, even though I love you' trope is never a good one. Some of the conversations between characters were repeated in different parts of the story. And the final thing is the sheer silliness of Beau and Jake not considering anyone would come to the farm, when they've got hard evidence that people have, and they have even spotted them before. The assumption that the farm is safe, when they know it's not, causes more than one problem!
A good debut novel by this author. I would definitely be interested in continuing with the series, both for the characters and also to see how her craft develops.
