Barry Newman (204 KP) rated American Horror Story - Season 9 in TV

Well the story isn't as deep as previous seasons and you certainly miss Evan Peters and Sarah Paulson from the cast but I am a sucker for an 80's slasher movie so still got allot of enjoyment out of this. I really liked the look and vibe of this season (the opening titles are brilliant) that captures the decade very well. Some of the plot twists are completely ridiculous but it rattles along at a fast pace and is never boring and made for a very entertaining season if not quite up with the series best.

Sadly a dud.
Opening with a somewhat controversial sequence of Michael stalking Laurie Strode, I personally enjoy the opening scenes. But after that, it's all downhill.
Halloween Resurrection features a terrible cast, while some do their best, others are dreadful. It's lead by Busta Rhymes who's overtop acting mixes terribly with the worst character in the movie. Bianca Kajlich is the final girl, and she's a pretty average one at that.
On another upside, this movie does feature some cool camera work, utilizing head cams.
Overall though, Halloween Resurrection is an average slasher, with some terrible characters, not recommended.

Finally seen I've been wanting to see the movie since I first watched the trailer last September for movie that's part mean girls part freaky Friday with a dash of 80s slasher movies this movie has it all u haven't seen it all till u see Vince Vaughan channeling his inner teenage girl persona had me in stitches and Kathryn Newton as millie and the butcher is a star in the making. There are some good kills in this movie with plenty of gore. Overall worth the long wait to see the movie

Dean (6927 KP) rated Slasher - Season 3 in TV

Feels low budget (2 more)
Poor acting
Predictable
Disappointing
I waited a long time to see this, as it only recently became available on UK Netflix. The first 2 series were great and felt like very good Slasher films and were done well as a series.
This is no where near as good though sadly. Low budget, mainly filmed in a small apartment block. The story isn't as good and becomes fairly predictable by about the 5 episode. It felt like a bit of a slog to finish even at 8 episodes. Stick to the first 2 series.

Silent suspense
Maddie (Kate Siegel) is a deaf writer, living a “quiet” life in the woods, secluded and alone, trying to heal after the breakdown of her last relationship.
Queue the bad guy played by John Gallagher Jr... and what follows is an 82 minute, interesting game of cat and mouse.
It’s a fresh take on the standard home invasion/slasher movie genre with the added element of her disability. Expect some great scenes, good acting from the small cast involved and no complicated storyline.
Try to overlook the inconsistencies, the plot holes and occasional predictability.

Decent Thriller
Definitely more thriller than a horror, Slasher film. A mix of Stranger Things crossed with Disturbia. A group of friends spy on their cop neighbour and suspect he could be a local serial killer.
A slow burner with very little horror for the most part. Features more on the friendship as they spend the summer spying on their neighbour to try and find evidence if he could be a serial killer. Their friendship is the strong part of the film. So if you like the other shows mentioned you should enjoy this.
