Hard time connecting with the adults, the children were far more interesting to me. I was expecting more intrigue, or maybe I missed it.I liked it, but I didn’t fully follow what was happening and found myself going back to read again

I started this book with high expectations given all the hype that has preceded it and, overall, I wasn't disappointed and I want to thank Netgalley and the publisher, Random House UK/Transworld Publishing, for my copy in return for an unbiased review.

You can read my review here http://readingstuffnthings.blogspot.co.uk/2015/04/before-i-go-to-sleep-by-s-j-watson.html, thank you.

Haley Mathiot (9 KP) rated The Meowmorphosis in Books

Apr 27, 2018

The concept for The Meowmorphosis was great and it sounded witty and funny. However, it was incredibly dull and dry and put me to sleep several times. I don't know if this is because of the original book--I've never read The Metamorphosis. Maybe it would have been funnier or more interesting to a die-hard Kafka fan. However I couldn't get past page 80.

"I could choose any of Woody Allen’s movies and would be able to sleep well at night. A true master of cinema and way more of a director’s director than people give him credit for, especially in his collaborations with the great cameraman Gordon Willis. With the exception of Hannah and Her Sisters and Manhattan, Stardust Memories has always left me the most emotional."

Book Favorite

"P.G. Wodehouse is my escape from the sleep-disturbing troubles of life. I know all too exactly what Evelyn Waugh meant when he said, ‘Wodehouse’s idyllic world can never stale. He will continue to release future generations from captivity that may be more irksome than our own.’ I love Jeeves and Bertie, but Uncle Fred teamed up with Lord Emsworth provides perhaps the purest release of all."
