this was a new author to me, but what a fab book. I really liked the characters and loved the story line which flowed really well. this is a second chance love story which will have you hooked from the first page. the story has plenty of love, romance, banter and some hot steamy scenes.

I was thrilled to receive this novel as it encompasses three of my favorite things: historical Roman romance. While I enjoyed the book overall, I wasn’t blow away by it. Everything seemed so simple from the plot to the characters. There is nothing wrong with the story, I just felt like it was lacking in some factor to really make it stand out.

I wasn't too impressed with this first book. Not much happened apart from one curse that was affecting a handful of shifters and finding out about Jade's past with Samir, who I'm assuming will make an appearance at some point in the series. As for the romance with Alek, I wasn't really feeling it but that might change as the series progresses.

Reading the trio boxset.

"And then kind of parallel to [Nothing but a Man] — number three would probably be my most favorite romance, Paris Blues. Sidney Poitier, Diahann Carroll, Paul Newman, and Joanne Woodward. I love it. The dialogue in that film is some of the best I’ve ever seen. And Sidney Poitier, I think, gives one of his best performances. And it’s so, so sexy, that movie."

I'd been interested in this for a while but steampunk isn't really one of my favourite genre's--unless it's by Lindsay Buroker and they have romance in them.

I liked this but it's not my usual read. I guess I could be tempted to read more of the series at some point but I think I'd have to be in the right mood/head space for it.

Bryn takes a job in a funeral directors, but the first day does not go as planned. What follows is a recipe for crazy.... nanites, the walking deceased (not zombies) and a romance in the making!

Really well written, some great characters too... I found the start a little slower than I would normally enjoy, but stuck it out and really enjoyed the book

A nice and sweet time-travel romance. Melissa was a well-developed heroine for Rory, who while not as developed and portrayed as practically perfect, was a wonderful hero for her. The story was smoothly written, although I could have done without some of the flowery prose, and had well-defined plotlines. I thought the epilogue was a little bit of a letdown because I would have liked to hear about the children at Freedom House. An easy and otherwise nice read, but it didn't connect with me as much as other books. Still, it really was well-written and the romance between Melissa and Rory was lovely.

Science Fiction meets complicated Romance
I am both a romance fanatic and a science fiction buff and one day I was just poking around looking for something that would blend these two things without being...you know...bad. I've read a lot of things about some lady in an experimental ship who accidentally ends up on a planet where a hot alien alpha dude wants to make her his interplanetary bride.

I did not want that. I wanted a complex story with romantic themes set in space...and that's exactly what this book gave me.

Fortune's Pawn rocked. Devi Morris is a badass, power armor clad mercenary with a dream to join an elite merc unit...but she has to get some expedition references first. So what does she do? Chooses the one ship with the worst track record in the hopes it with fast track her ambitions to the top. While I wont put spoilers I will say she gets her wish...kinda. She finds romance...that gets VERY complicated, mystery, and tossed into what is bound to end in an interstellar war.

9/10, highly recommend.
