Will Smith would be proud?
Contains spoilers, click to show
Not going to lie. I only watched this to see Chris Hemsworth. He didn't disappoint. However, it is not even slightly on par with the first 3 Men in Black movies. Will Smith made those films what they are and it was upsetting to not see him there or even see the same quality of film. Some of the characters where great though. Penny? Absolutely adorable and by far the best thing about this movie. The action fight scenes were alright and the ending was adequate but what I hated the most, and what I hate about a lot of movies now is the forced romance. Why did they feel the need to add so much tension between Agent H and Agent M? They were a great team but they don't need to be together to show that...

Leanne Crabtree (480 KP) rated Shattered Promises in Books
Nov 18, 2019
This is now the earliest bought book on my Kindle, coming from March 2014 and since that's nearly 6 years ago, I think it's high time I read it, so here goes.
I struggled with this from the start. I just wasn't connecting with the story at all. My interest heightened a little at the introduction of Alex but then it started to wane again at their antagonistic behaviour. But i realised they had some sort of history that she couldn't remember.
It seemed to take forever for her to piece it all together (view spoiler) I even figured out who the bad guy was going to turn out to be after that vision she fell into.
I also wasn't interested in the thing she had going on with Alex and that's the stuff i read book for, the romance.
I won't be continuing the series.

Rebecca Billcliff (2409 KP) rated The Twilight Saga (Twilight, #1-4) in Books

A Guilty Pleasure
Reading these in my (very) late teens, I could not help but be gripped by the romance, the forbidden nature, the utter devotion of the characters, and the tween take on some occult characters.
The way the world is explained is pretty good, and allows the story to realy flow. All the characters are interesting, often flawed and draw you in. The general themes as well as the juxtaposition of totally normal teenage crap, like meeting the boyfriend's family, and the danger faced by the characters is sometimes farcical, but no less compelling because of it.
The story feels complete, the characters develop, and Bella becomes less of an ass.
It was a lovely read, and I am looking forward to diving back in, a decade later, to see if I still feel the same.

Merissa (13298 KP) rated Desire's Destiny (The Vespian Way #1) in Books
Nov 20, 2019
DESIRE'S DESTINY is the first book in The Vespian Way series, and we are introduced to a world very different from Earth. They have their own customs and traditions, just like Earth does. Heather is assigned to the Ambassador as his bodyguard, but that assignment quickly makes her something else.
This is a very fast-paced story, with plenty of steamy scenes. At times I actually felt as though this detracted a little from the main story, but I could see where the author was going with it.
There are still questions left unanswered but this is only book one, so I'm hoping for answers to at least some of my questions in book two.
An intricate and twisted Sci-Fi Erotic Romance with plenty of stories and characters yet to learn about. If you're looking for something to get you hot under the collar, then I can definitely recommend this.

Leanne Crabtree (480 KP) rated Geek Girl (Geek Girl, #1) in Books

Hmmm...
I've been eyeing this book up for a few months now. Every time I go in my local Asda Living I hum and ahh over whether to buy it but I wasn't sure if I'd like it. But then I saw it as a Kindle deal and just decided to buy it.
This was a quick easy read but I never really fell into the story. I didn't gel with it that much. I don't know if it was Harriets total geekiness-slash-clumsiness-slash-doesnt know when to shut-up-ness but up until the last 15% or so I found her so awkward as a character.
That's why I wasn't really expecting anything romance wise but that end bit has me a little intrigued as to where things could go with her and Nick so I may just have to buy the next book at some point.

Leanne Crabtree (480 KP) rated The Immortals: Evermore in Books

I enjoyed this, but some things just seemed a little strange, like their romance. It just seemed to happen without much build-up. Sure she liked him and everyone assumed they were going out...but when did it actually start to happen? It just seemed to happen between one chapter and the next...
The names of the characters were a little strange too, and I kept getting confused between Haven and Honor; one being Ever's friend and the other someone who didn't like her.
As for the storyline, it was fairly new to me and I was intrigued as to where it was going, though it seemed to take a long time to actually get there. The style was easy for me to get into and I found myself not wanting to put it down.
I'm straight onto book 2, Blue Moon, to see where the stories going to go next.
