WildBell (6 KP) rated Gardenscapes in Apps

A year later still going
I've had this game for a couple of years. Love designing my garden and the different challenges you can join. The levels are sometimes really difficult and others super easy.
I will fade in and out of playing it a lot of the time, but will always return to it.
The flower challenge can be annoying as you have to use your unlimited time when you get it and I end up wasting half of it due to life getting in the way. Damn being an adult.

Items sold by multiple sellers
It's good!
eBay is a good app and site to use but you do need to be careful because there are scammers out there and there are also items that are not as described. Some sellers write clothes sizes in UK but they are in fact not the UK sizes they are EU sizes or US sizes. You just have to be careful. Also, recommend paying through PayPal as any problems that do occur E.G. being scammed, they will get your money back and/or sort the issue out.

David McK (3562 KP) rated Wolfsangel (Craw Trilogy, #1) in Books
Jan 30, 2019
Described (by 2 different authors, in the blurb on the back of the book in this edition) as "A unique take on the werewolf mythos, on the Norse pantheon an on magic itself. An enthralling, mesmeric book" and "A fresh take on the werewolf myth ... Brutal and relentlessly original", I have to say: this novel was nothing at all like I expected. Where I was expecting an excting tale of Vikings, shapeshifters and magic, instead I got a slow, torpid and (sometimes) impenetrable read instead. The first in a planned series of such books, I doubt I'll be looking for any of the sequels.
I chose this book for my monthly book club, as we had chosen the topic of transport and I had this book at home waiting to be read. I had a lot of anticipation, as i had just read misery and loved it.
I liked this book but found it was drawn out, I felt like instead of the 600 pages it could have been half that, and because of its length I found myself getting bored sometimes.
All in all a good story and it would be recommended, but I dont think it's for everyone , not everyone would have the patience with it.

Charlie Ulloa (13 KP) rated Oliver! (1968) in Movies
Dec 15, 2019
A classic that you have to see at least once in your life
Good direction, you get to hate the antagonists and the main actor wins your heart. Oliver Twist is a book classic if you can read the book before the movie, read it. If not, then pictured the characters as in the movie sometimes help you more.
As I said, Oliver Twist is a classic both, movie and book. You have to watch it as a must, more so, in the holidays season.

Awix (3310 KP) rated La Ley del Deseo (Law of Desire) (1987) in Movies
Apr 2, 2020 (Updated Apr 2, 2020)
Almodovar's sixth movie is the one that brought him properly to international attention, but it's clear that his distinctive style was already well-developed by this point: there is the same skilful combination of suspense-movie tropes with sometimes-outrageous melodrama, and a sense of narrative playfulness.
Very strong performances from Antonio Banderas and Carmen Maura in particular, although the script seems to lack some of the deftness and confidence Almodovar would show in later movies - the shift from relationship drama to thriller isn't quite as well handled as one could hope for, and some elements of the story really do strain credibility. Nevertheless, an accomplished and engaging movie.
