I enjoy Ispy because I never know what new makeup to try, and am often afraid of trying new, unknown products. This gives me the opportunity to try out products without going "all-in" on the full-size product. I also like being surprised by products I would never have considered trying.

Of course, because you don't get to choose the products it can be a gamble. I've been sent plenty of products that are useless to me or are just plain awful products. But, I think the enjoyment I get out of trying the things I do like outweighs any disappointment from bad products.

I do most of my interaction with Ipsy on their website, but their app seems to run smoothly and I haven't had any issues.

Breakaway by Lisa B Kamps

Four Stars

What a beautiful story. The author had me in my feelings while reading this book. Babies are so precious and to lose one before they had a fighting chance just breaks your heart. The characters were well written and balanced each other out. Jean-Pierre was beautifully flawed. He accent perfect his sometimes shy and confused mannerisms. Not knowing what he wanted but knew that it began and ended with Emily. Her role was just heartbreaking. Always living with the knowledge of what she lost and the pain of doing it alone. The uncertainty she felt about JP and what his coming back meant. This second chance book is one to definitely pick up. It read quick and they moved fast but in the end it was worth and they ended well.

This was another good read from E.L. James. I thought that it was well done. The book seemed to flow better than the last book and I found myself enjoying it more.

I think my favorite part of the books were the emails. They seemed to bring the characters to life. I think that this is a guilty pleasures book. I definitely did not read it for the writing styles.

Like I said previously with the first in the series, the characters are likable. I like the fact that the characters do have flaws. It makes it easy for the reader to relate to them.

I would have liked less sex. The reason I say that is that in each chapter there were at least two sex scenes. Sometimes less is more.

All in all, this book was enjoyable.

Delightful Day with a Dinosaur
The book features Danny, a young boy whose day in the museum gets much better when he meets a real Dinosaur. The two spend the day together, heading downtown, to the zoo, and finally spending some time playing with Danny’s neighborhood friends.

I remember enjoying this book as a kid, and it holds up well today. While there is really nothing in the way of plot, the pictures and words, sometimes more captions to the pictures than anything else, tell of a delightful day together for these two new friends. The pictures are a bit dated since the book came out in the 1950’s, but I doubt kids notice or care. Instead, they’ll be caught up in the fun of spending a day with a dinosaur, smiling and laughing at some of the situations along the way.

Me and my family use Amazon a lot for our shopping needs and I can read for free on there too which I really love. We love it because a lot of the stuff on there is cheaper than what you find in a store. Most likely if you cant find what you are looking for in a store you will find it on Amazon and you only have to wait 2 days for it to get there!

Fantastic!
I won this remote in a smashbomb giveaway and I could not be any more grateful!!! My parents already have one Roku Television & I gave this other remote to them for the second tv that they had in their home and now they can have a wide variety of shows, movies, etc. at their fingertips throughout their own little home! They live in an area where it is hard to get cable, and the installation is incredibly expensive so this works wonders for them! Especially since it can be linked to a Netflix! They are loving life! Sometimes it really is the little things! Thank you again so much! Hooking this up literally took 10-15 minutes! Easy breezy!

Charlie Parker has captured my soul
I picked up one of these novels off the Library shelf at random and have been unable to stop reading the series since (currently awaiting the next one). These novels tackle all the great themes of love and loss, of Good and Evil, of fall and redemption. The author's journalistic background is evident in the painstaking research that has been carried out to create these works. Charlie Parker is the most intriguing and multidimensional fictional detective I have encountered. Oh, and John Connolly's prose sometimes makes me have to stop and catch my breath so I can pause and just reread the magical combination of words I have discovered like diamonds in a mine.

Highly recommended for both new and longtime campers!
This book was so much fun! So much more than just a cookbook, it had everything from healthy, delicious looking recipes to tips on virtually every aspect of camping! As an avid longtime (& sometimes full-time) camper myself it was great to see so many little helpful tidbits for those just heading out into the woods as well as some awesome ideas for our next trip out.

So much more informative than any camping cookbook I've seen - Humourous and inspirational stories and tidbits like 12 different ways to make a s'more and a huge list of delicious sounding pancake toppers. Helpful tips about foraging, pets, wildlife, fun illustrations, even car games & fun for the kids!

Fabulous book and beautiful cover - Highly recommended for both new and longtime campers!

unique plot (2 more)
great acting
twists and turns
sometimes predictable (0 more)
I went into this movie blind, having never seen the trailer or read the plot, and i thoroughly enjoyed it! Anna Kendrik and Blake Lively come together to make a great pairing, both being great actors and filling their characters with personality that grips the viewers attention from the beginning.

The movie contains many twists and turns, most of them surprising but some of them a little predictable (which is why i only gave it a rating of 9). Unlike some movies with a similar theme to this, such as Gone Girl, i found that the plot pulled you in from the beginning, rather than taking a while to get going.

Overall i thought this was a great movie with a unique plot line, deep and interesting characters, and great acting.

Master of Rome (Masters of the Sea, #3)
John Stack | 2011

The third book in John Stack's 'Masters of the Sea' series, this continues the story of Atticus from the previous two novels. As I've said before, it's an interesting setting - the Roman Navy during the First Punic War - due to it's relative unfamiliarity to the reader: we're all aware of Hannibal crossing the Alps (which was during the Second Punic War), and of the might of the Roman army, but I can think of very few other books dealing with their navy!

This starts with teh Roman army defeated at Tunis, and then details the repercussions from this defeat and various other naval battles the fleet participates in. The novel also covers a long(ish) period of time: the events within are, sometimes, maybe a year or so apart.

Readable enough, but not a brilliant piece of writing.
