Some interesting ideas that didn't gel, a villain who isn't, more supernatural elements without science explanations than should ever appear in Who, and a substandard set of additional characters add up to a poor outing from Big Finish here. Sylvester McCoy and Sophie Aldred are great as usual, but thats about as far as I can go in this confusing story set in the land down under. Or is it?

While I didn't care for the story itself (admittedly, I knew very little of Cromwell going into this) I did enjoy the character moments that came out of this. Hex continues to grow on me, and Ace continues to be awesome, here acting more as the emotional anchor for Hex than her usual bombastic force of nature. It was somewhat surprising to hear Sophie Aldred utter the line "when I was a teenager" in reference to traveling with the Doctor, and realize just how much time has passed in universe with them together. Probably my favourite 7th doctor story it's got everything drama suspence good monsters and the makeup on the ancient one superb. Plus the doctor at his most darkest manipulative using people like a game of chess including ace who has to face her future in the baby girl Audrey who might be her mother. and special mention goes to Nicholas parsons whose not normally known for his acting but here pulls it off as the rev Wainwright overall good story one of the best I've seen as fan. As I reviewed the VHS version on blu ray it looks just as good as it 30 years ago

The S
Season 25 starred Sylvester McCoy as the Seventh Doctor and Sophie Aldred as Ace and comprised of four serials.
Remembrance of the Daleks was a trip back to 1963 and to Coal Hill School. Two Dalek factions trying to acquire some Time Lord technology the Hand of Omega. We get Daleks exploded, Daleks attacking each other and a superb cast. It is only bested by Genesis of the Daleks
The Happiness Patrol was probably remembered best for it's Bertie Bassett inspired Candyman who some fans thought immature but I loved him. There is girl gangs, a blues musician and an angry dog but Happiness will prevail.
Silver Nemesis was the return of the Cybermen. Plus we see more of The Doctors engimatic side as the race is on to find the living statue of Nemesis. Nice to see the Cybermen still been allergic to gold and also just what is the Doctor's name?
The Greatest Show in the Galaxy is the Doctor goes to the circus. It's fact clowns are freaky and so are bus conductors. As note we also meet Mags here a werewolf.
