A new spin on the idea of zombie or living dead. This is a reread for me and I love the series. Rachel Caine is definitely one of my favourite Authors. This has strong female lead with a good storyline.

Running from 2007 to 2019, The Big Bang Theory (TBBT) was an American sitcom that focused - initially - on a group of Scientist Friends in Pasadena.
From them, the character of Sheldon Cooper was probably the breakout star.
So much so, that he got his own spin-off in the sitcom 'Young Sheldon', which started airing towards the end of TBBT.
From that, Sheldon's older brother Georgie Cooper had perhaps the best storyline towards the end of its own run.
A storyline that is picked up in this, with Georgie married to Mandy (10 years his senior) and struggling to raise his young family in late 80s, early 90s Texas,
Like Young Sheldon before it, I never found it as laugh-out-loud funny as TBBT - amusing, yes, but not laugh out loud.
I'll still watch more of it.

Season 2 of Amazon's Fallout adaptation, that picks up from where Season 1 left off, and with Lucy McClean now searching for her father for very different reasons than before whilst the Ghoul continues his search for his family and whilst Maximus is back with the Brotherhood of Steel, and whilst more intrigue and secrets come to light amongst the vault dwellers.
That sounds like quite a lot.
Which, to its credit, the show manages to spin seemingly effortlessly, again contrasting the 'now' with flashbacks to the past (and the Ghoul's former life), before the bombs dropped.
I've never played the games, so I can't say how closely it sticks, but I do have to say - for all that - this is thoroughly enjoyable, and mostly welcoming to newcomers (although they will need to have watched season 1 first).

I'm a big fan of Game of Thrones so having a chance to view a spin off series is a no brainer.
This is a big series 10 episodes mostly around an hour long. Unfortunately there was no where near enough action for me. The first few episodes are good but then it jumps to around 10 years later with different actors playing some of the characters.
As usual there is a lot of political views around who should be the heir to the Throne and who is with or against the various Houses. Just creates a bit of a lull around the middle episodes before picking up again for the last 2 episodes. Hopefully a second series will have more action.

TYPHOON WARNING is the sixth and final book in the Olympic Cove series, although I'm hoping for a spin-off of some description after the amazing ending. I mean, you never know!
We meet up with all our old favourites, but the majority of the story belongs to Chiron, Zoe, and Pius. This was a threesome none of them saw coming, and it was heartbreaking as much as it was joyful. I loved that the three of them worked so well together, helping each other as they learned to deal with whatever new bombshell had been dropped on them.
I don't want to give away any spoilers, but can I just say... the big bads? Well now, they get exactly what they deserve! I won't say any more, but trust me. If you've read even one book set in Olympic Cove, you absolutely need to read this one.
This was a fitting end to this series, finishing everything off nicely, and leaving me with one thought... If only! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED by me.

Off Base (Out of Uniform #1) by Annabeth Albert
Off Base is the first book in the Out of Uniform series. I double-checked the synopsis as it didn't feel like the first book, only to see it was a spin-off from the #Gaymers series! Now I have another series to catch up on ;)
Zack is an all-macho good guy, determined to make his deeply religious parents proud. His brother is basically a deadbeat, so he feels the pressure to be perfect. Pike is a friend of a friend, and someone who riles Zack up in all the ways he doesn't want to acknowledge. So be prepared for snarkiness and sparks between these two.
This was a wonderful introduction to this series, showing out Zack thinks he has to fight every battle alone. Seriously, you think he'd know better, but his fears have their place, and are very real to him. Pike helps him where he can, but isn't prepared to hide who he is. I absolutely love these two, so young, so unsure, and yep, so HOT!
There is romance, angst, pain, steam, and a multitude of other emotions between these pages. With no editing or grammatical errors to disrupt my reading flow, I absolutely recommend this book. An absolute blast of a start to the series, and I can't wait to read more.
