Dean (6921 KP) rated Not Another Teen Movie (2001) in Movies
Jun 5, 2018 (Updated Jul 10, 2021)
One of the best Spoof films
A lewd, crude, rude and a rather funny film. Not heard much about it, so I expected the worse.....but actually found myself laughing an awful lot! It's a great spoof mainly of She's all that, American Pie, Cruel Intentions and Pretty in Pink. Featuring a great cameo from Molly Ringwald, Lindsay Lohan from Mean girls and even Mr T! Along the way there are scenes aimed at Porky's, Grease, Risky Business, the list is endless. Every type of humour is here and if you know the mentioned films well you could like it. Not a bad DVD with a quiz on teen movies, Music videos, Making of as well. Overall a fun package and even a lot of females on my friend list liked it to my surprise!
Loz Hughes (80 KP) rated Dracula - Dead and Loving It (1995) in Movies

So bad it was kinda good.
This was a spoof on dracula films and it was so bad I actually really liked it, it was lighthearted, amusing and a bit slapstick.
Definitely one to watch with a bit of alcohol in the system lol, doesnt require brain power to follow the storyline.

Pete Ingalls wakes up in the hospital certain he's a great PI, so he sets up a new office. But will he be in over his head when he gets two clients? A spoof on the classic PI stories of old, and an entertaining mystery to boot.

Jackson Jones goes from hero to zero when he gets braces. But that's also how he finds out about the super spies operating out of his elementary school. This book is funny and creative while still delivering a credible plot (well, for a spy spoof). Kids of all ages will love it.

Dean (6921 KP) rated Freddy vs. Jason (2003) in Movies

2 iconic characters in the same film (1 more)
Much better than most of the Friday the 13th films
Slasher fan heaven
A pretty cool hack'n'slash film. Almost tongue in cheek at times, it could almost be a spoof of both series of films. The effects are cool and there is plenty of blood for gore fans. Nice to see a recent film starring these two cult film characters giving the fans what they like.

Oddball comedy
A strange comedy for adults that is part spoof, part panto with quite a good cast surprisingly. There is a fair bit of gore, swearing, rude references, nudity and reasonable cgi for a film of this type. Overall though it's missing the main ingredient, being funny with most of the jokes just not that good. A strange type of film, rather childish and silly with a few redeeming qualities but not many!
The show starts off pretty campy and I thought it was meant to be a spoof. As the series continues the show attempts to be more serious, with a bit of comic relief. All in all, it is not a bad show. The special effects are not in any way cheesy. In my opinion, it would have fared a bit better by deciding what type of show it wanted to be from the beginning and committing.
Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2057 KP) rated The Man with the Iron-On Badge in Books
Mar 9, 2018
This spoof of PI conventions centers on a security guard who thinks he has what it takes to be a real PI. After all, he's watched every PI show on TV he could find. How hard could it be? A bit dark for my usual tastes, I still enjoyed this funny look at the PI genre.

Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2057 KP) rated M Is for Mama's Boy (NERDS, #2) in Books
Mar 9, 2018
The NERDS team is back and on the trail of a bank robber using squirrels as his accomplishes. Is it an old friend turned villain? This Bond spoof for kids is a very funny ride that I completely loved. Definitely consider it for kids in life, but read it yourself first. You'll love it, too.

Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2057 KP) rated How to Party with a Killer Vampire (Party Planning, #4) in Books
Mar 9, 2018
Presley Parker is hosting a vampire party in a graveyard to celebrate the completion of filming on a vampire spoof movie. But when a body appears the morning of the party, she begins to wonder if there is a connection between the victim and one of her guests. I like Parker and find these books fun.
