This is book number 3 of the Esposito county shifters series. Although it belongs to a series I feel it can be read as a stand-alone as you can understand what each character is to the story. I haven't read any of the other books in this series but I am interested in looking into reading the others.
I like Nicola as an author whatever she is doing in a story she seems to give with all her heart and make you feel that character's story.
This is a very steamy story with a lot of intimacy so if you blush easily then this is not a book for you! If you don't, go for it! I guarantee you will enjoy! It also has the element of danger and suspense with a bit of magic in there too.
I recommend it highly.

Maybe because I'm *from* Belfast, Northern Ireland and have relatives who lived through the period of history colloquially known as The Troubles (I was a teenager in the 90s, when they 'ended', and when this is set), so know exactly what the IRA and their loyalist counterparts were/are like.
It made my blood boil to read passages in this where they were treated as heroes by some in Boston (and, yes, I know it's a fiction book): surely to goodness nobody could be that naive??
Anyway, I normally like Bernard Cornwell (Author) novels.
I know he spent a bit of time here (the BBC, I believe?), before moving to the States.
His knowledge of landmarks does show.
I would have thought he would have known better, though, in how he portrays the tangled mess that is politics and history that went on in this fair isle.
Sorry, Mr Paul Shanahan: you're unlikeable as a lead character; no match to a Richard Sharpe or an Uhtred of Bebbanburg.
(his other stand-alone sailing thrillers - those I have read, at least - are all much better)
Merissa (12066 KP) rated The Watcher (Crossing Realms Series #2) in Books

It is action-packed, full of new characters that have a story to tell. Dev has a job to do, and only a limited amount of time to do it in. This certainly doesn't involve the person he is there to find! Well written, with no editing or grammatical errors to disrupt the reading flow, this book was smoothly paced. It finished off Dev's story whilst still leading on nicely to the next one. So long as you read in sequence, I would definitely recommend this book/series.

This is an addition to the Tangled Tentacles AND Assassins To Order series, it cannot be read as a stand alone.
What this is, right, is a wonderful catch up everyone and I loved it, bar one thing.
There are a lot of babies in this book, and a LOT of surprises for several members of this ever growing family!
I liked that Magnus puts his paw down with Kelvin's kraken about their birth. I LOVED the surprise for Markov and Cassius, that one threw me! Them too, but did not see that one coming! I loved that there were conversations about NOT having babies, at all or just yet.
But the best surprise was for Marvin and Ajani!
So, what didn't I love?? Too short! I need more of these kind of catch up shorts, or better yet, the next book in the Assassins series! I love these books, and it's been a little while.
a delightful catch up, thank you for writing them!
4 too stinking cute and warm and fuzzy stars
