I was so happy with the way this movie turned out! A lot of great things within the Star Wars universe being brought to life. Just wish he would've had full support for the entire trilogy. (0 more)
A few plot holes and it is a little rushed at the beginning. (0 more)
JJ Abrams was my pick the entire time

Take a classic Space Opera saga (Star Wars), add a soupcon of horror (Aliens), and a large dose of Zombies (Resident Evil), and what do you have?

This book.

The plot? An Imperial prison barge breaks down, and then comes across a seemingly abandoned Star Destroyer out in the wastes of space. It transpires that the Destroyer is not abandoned after all, and that it had been carrying out bio-weapon experiments ...

Definitely felt like the author was (heavily) inspired by the Resident Evil games/films: the Zombies are such not as the living dead back-to-life of Romero, but as a result of a engineered virus. The Aliens link I mentioned comes in on the 'set-on-prison-<s>planet</s>barge' setting, and I'm also not entirely sure why he felt the need to drop Han Solo and Chewbacca into the mix, unless that was just so you would know it is a Star Wars novel?

Not the best Extended Universe book.

Great crew new and old
Great sfx
Fits in with the other films
Star Wars!
Love the Star Wars films! The flawless mix of the old universe with the new technology was cunning edge material, bringing back old friends, characters, and props back where they belong. The Rogue One crew was Amazing. Glad they explained everyone's background story in the beginning. The build up to the final fight scene on Scarif was perfection. The final fight scene itself, well cmon did you really think you'd be let down? Almost wished that the fight scenes were a little more brutal but considering the company is owned by Disney the move to keep it kid friendly while still giving the older more mature audience a show is respected.

This is 'Bridging' Star Wars tale, collecting issues numbers 56-61 of the main Star Wars line, set after the events of 'Hope Dies' but before The Empire Strikes Back.

Scattered across the galaxy following their defeat by the Empire (and betrayal by Queen Trios of Shu-Torun), this finds Luke, Leia and Han stranded on a planet cut off for the outside world, with only limited communication and contact with that galaxy (so not quite like being stranded on Earth!).

Cue an increasing impatient Luke looking for ways off the planet while also falling for his host's daughter, Han and Leia growing increasingly close, and a little bit of Wild West thrown in before (eventually) they are tracked down by The Empire and make their escape once more ...

"I’m gonna have to say, because of my childhood, and it’s such a strong influence for me, Raiders of the Lost Ark. I would define my interest in acting as a long-standing compulsion, and I was interested in pursuing this career since I was five years old. But it was films like Star Wars, or, you know, films that really got me interested. Star Wars, Raiders, Jaws… Alien. Alien I have to put on the list… I feel like… Every time, if I name a film like Alien, I say, “Well, I should really say Blade Runner as well.” You can’t… I mean, the attention to detail, and the characters. I just can’t wait to see where [Ridley Scott] goes next. The fact that he’s doing prequels has just got me giddy."

Was literally a plot filler. (0 more)
Plot filler : a star wars story
Ok so Rogue one looked like it had the potential to be something new and continue to grow afterwards, but what we got was a movie that was literally just made to cover decades of plot holes, piss off fans and cash in on a major franchise!
This was the Suicide Squad of the star wars universe, only better characters, better story and people kinda enjoyed it.
It had its usual great VFX but a more darker grittier tone which worked well with the story.

Unfortunately this movie didn't even have any of the good scenes from the trailer which one can only assume ended up on the cutting floor.

This is a compilation volume of Charles Soule's mainline Star Wars run, collecting issues 7 through 11 of said run that is set after the events of The Empire Strikes Back.

And what can I say about it?

It's OK: nothing all that special, but nor is it the worst Star Wars I have read.

there's also a whole plot arc about stealing an old translator droid from Coruscant, that feels like it would have been the perfect place to cross over with Doctor Aphra (a character that, truth be told, I never really took too all that much) but which completely squanders that opportunity - I also felt that Poe Dameron's parents (and the fate of at least one of them) is shoehorned just a tad too much for my liking.

Star Wars: X-Wing Miniatures Game

I absolutely love this game. It takes into account pretty much all the things I want out of a game. Competition, Strategy and Star Wars

There are a lot of ins and outs. While the basic game is the same, being familiar with the cards, ships, pilots, mods, etc can definitely give you a boost over a less knowledgeable opponent.

I love flying the ships. I am a huge Star Wars fan so getting to use my knowledge of Star Wars in a competitive and strategic way is the best of both worlds.

The miniatures look great and the art on the cards is always cool. There are also additional and rare cards you can get from participating in and winning tournaments.

There is a large and fun community based mostly around comic and game shops that play this game. There is also an annual competition that is very high stakes. (I have never been.)

Finally, though it can be a costly game to get into, when compared to most miniature games, it is probably one of the least expensive and the start up cost is only $40.

All in all, the main thing I want from this game is to get to play it more. And that's on me.
