Not Stephen King's best
Either this wasn't directed very well or it isn't Stephen King's best novella. There seemed to be something lacking to make it a true psychological thriller. It consists of a man who manipulates his son into killing his mother in order to stay on the land and live life as farmers. And as expected things go horribly wrong from there.
But the thing is, most of the things that go wrong are expected if you're watching this kind of film. You know from the outset that the husband and son won't live merrily if they've committed this sort of crime so it's a total anti-climax. After watching King's other adapted film @Gerald's Game (2017), this felt like a let down.

Bad dog!
Cujo taps into a lot of those primal feelings with animals and relationships. Stephen King takes this St Bernard and turns it into a killer but he also makes you understand why the dog is acting the way that it is acting. You get to view the world through the lens of the dog's eyes and the through the dog's thoughts as well.
On the other side of the coin is the family that used to the own the dog and of course the Trentons. Both family are sucked into the horror and neither come out the same. This is a classic work of Stephen King's but it is tough to swallow if you are not ready for it.

Brilliant
I need to be very honest now, despite being a massive film and Stephen King fan, I have never seen Misery until now. I’ve read the book many times, but for some reason I never got round to watching the film, and I’m pretty ashamed of myself.
This is one of the best Stephen King adaptations out there. Kathy Bates is phenomenal as Annie, she plays her perfectly. James Caan would never have been my first choice as Paul Sheldon, but he does very well. The entire film is so true to the book, it’s surprisingly good. Whilst I wouldn’t call it a horror film, it’s definitely one of the best thriller films out there despite its age. I can’t fault this film at all.

Based on the Stephen King novel, The body, which is the backdrop to this great story. (2 more)
Outstanding acting from the then young cast.
Nostalgic story of friendship and the vulnerability of youth.
Coming of age movie, with the late River Phoenix. Stand by Me is a small, quiet film that walks tall and resonates long after.

I was definitely expecting witches when I saw the title of the book but was pleasantly surprised by vampires :P I love the extremely aware links it makes towards Dracula. The characters are also superb. Yet again somehow Stephen king manages to include so many characters whilst still holding onto the story and no confusion. I was absolutely gripped.
