Emma (519 KP) rated Painter of Silence in Books

We read this book for the first month of my monthly book club, personally I rated it two out of five, as a group it was rates three out of five. I don't think any of us really loved it,and personally I wouldn't say I really enjoyed it,but that's maybe because it isn't a book.i would usually read. I found it really hard to connect with the style of writing as I could not get immerses in the story or characters,It wasn't a very personal style of writing, instead making you feel like you were being kept at an arms distance. I only started to enjoy the story three quarters through the book when the story was being tied up and coming to an end. As a group we all decided we wouldn't be reading anymore Georgina Harding.

OK sequel
It's a bit tame in comparison to the original, but it would be tough to live up to that standard. It's very similar in plot and style to the first. Just nothing that makes it stand out from similar films.

Guy Richie directs a brilliantly scripted heist comedy with such slick wit, it's full of great characters and is hugely enjoyable with a Tarantino like style.
Snatch is my favourite Guy Ritchie movie and this is a close second, a firm favourite.

I love me some Kathleen Woodiwiss. But after reading her other works and then Everlasting, I wonder how much of this novel is actually hers. It seems to lack her usual humor, wit, and general style. I was sadly disappointed.

A decent enough thriller with a good twist. Can't say much without giving it away, but was in style to another popular thriller. A good cast line up as well, it's just a little slow at times but worth it in the end.
