Book Divas (227 KP) rated See What I Have Done in Books
Dec 12, 2017
This debut novel was a weird and gruesome read that kept me its prisoner until the bitter end. I was completely enthralled with the portrayal of Lizzie Borden. The author's writing style was truly a delight and I look forward to more of her works.

Three old dudes rob a bank in this likeable heist movie that doesn't quite shortchange you, but doesn't exactly pay dividends either

Definitely one for Horror fans
A new spin on the Slasher genre
An interesting take on the Slasher film. This is done in a documentary style of a TV crew following a serial killer. Check it out if you are a Slasher fan.
MPMcDonald (8 KP) rated Hard Measures: How Aggressive CIA Actions After 9/11 Saved American Lives in Books

It's not the most exciting book in the world, but there is a very straightforward style of writing that I appreciated. I saw Mr. Rodriguez discussing the movie Zero Dark Thirty on a video panel discussion and wanted to read more about his angle.
Mothergamer (1628 KP) rated Space Dandy: Vol. 1 in Books
Aug 1, 2017
I really enjoyed this anime series. It has hilarious jokes, funny characters, and the art style is great. Following the misadventures of Space Dandy is never boring and I would find myself laughing a lot at all the funny moments. Definitely a great show.
This book has so much information. There are sections about accessories, suits, dresses, fabrics, bras, makeup, finding your own style, and so much more. The drawings and photographs are wonderful and incredibly inspiring. This is a must-have for the fashionista of the house.

The final collection of Calvin and Hobbes send our heroes off in style. Even 20 years later, the jokes are still fun and funny.

Dean (6927 KP) rated Road House 2 (2006) in Movies
Jun 5, 2018
A pretty decent if predictable action film. It works ok as a sequel although I don't think there are any character connections? Just the same style of plot but brought up to date. Some pretty good choreographed fight scenes make this slightly above average.

Good not great!
I love Val MacDermid however this isn't by any means her best book. Unfortunately the main character comes across annoying and self absorbed. However the plot and whole idea of the book is a good read!
