<b>I listen to far too much kpop songs for my own good.</b> When I heard that <i>Hello, I Love You</i> is a book about kpop, I just <i>had</i> to read the book.

<b>I despise this. Katie Stout's debut novel isn't about kpop</b> – that's just a small element. It's just about <b>an American girl trying to run away from her past and ends up falling in love with a Korean superstar</b>. Oh, and <b>that Korean superstar is also running away from HIS past,</b> so hooray! Past runners colliding.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;" href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/--1WHSx-iaa4/Vcu_9iIqSpI/AAAAAAAAE5w/ZOJm3UkK-e8/s1600/sigh.gif"><img src="http://bookwyrmingthoughts.bookblog.io/wp-content/uploads/sites/317/2015/08/sigh.gif"; width="188" height="200" border="0" /></a></div>
It's obvious <b>Grace didn't do much "research." She's tired of eating rice every day, and she wrinkles her nose in disgust at fish</b> – does she realize that <b>rice and seafood is quite <i>literally</i> associated with every part of Asian culture</b> or what? How else do Koreans or Japanese survive when they're surrounded by ocean all around (the seafood part)?

Grace's <b>research basically consisted of typing in "international boarding schools," clicking on the first result that seemed interesting and decided, "Why not? It's the way out."</b> She doesn't even know <i>why</i> she chose Korea. It's <b>all about running away from the past,</b> and that was probably repeated multiple times in the book. <b>I just want to throw a book at Grace and say, "Suck it up, buttercup."</b>
<blockquote>I've kept a big distance from it because it reminds me too much of my past, too much of what I left behind.</blockquote>
Methinks the lady doth protest too much.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;" href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-FXuDDyyknZc/Vcu_2-_rRRI/AAAAAAAAE5o/8E4pJbSzM1Q/s1600/angry-gif-o.gif"><img src="http://bookwyrmingthoughts.bookblog.io/wp-content/uploads/sites/317/2015/08/angry-gif-o.gif"; border="0" /></a></div>
I suppose I can't blame her because <b>the mom's worse – she's all, "Hi, Korea. I'm FARRR more superior than you."</b> *sticks nose up and saunters away in ten-inch heels* <b>If Grace is so "language impaired," she could have considered England, Canada, Australia or New Zealand where English is the primary language, thank you very much. -_-</b>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><b><a style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;" href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-D4yvObK8a5g/VcvAC60UhSI/AAAAAAAAE58/wJW7gAeQ96c/s1600/you%2Bgot%2Bproblems.gif"><img src="http://bookwyrmingthoughts.bookblog.io/wp-content/uploads/sites/317/2015/08/yougotproblems.gif"; width="320" height="180" border="0" /></a></b></div>
<b>
I'm not happy at all. I'm not even Korean. I'm Chinese and Vietnamese. I don't know if my Asian meter has been insulted or not.</b> I suppose I'll applaud Stout for trying to write a book about kpop, but that's about as far as I'll go for <i>Hello, I Love You</i>.

The style of the movie and the natural rhythm of Baby made this movie one of my favorites of the year! I loved every second of the soundtrack and how well it dragged the movie through the storyline. It was such a different way of telling a movie. The gore and violence was a little extreme but paired with the softness of the movie, even the most sensitive could get past that and enjoy the underlying tone.

I found myself grinning and giggling as I read this mythological YA book and had an extremely hard time putting it down. The author's writing style quickly pulls you in and you find yourself falling into the captivating story line enjoying the likeable characters. I highly recommend this hypnotic read.

This is the first book I've read written by this author and I was pleased. The writing style is different to others as it is indicative of someone with a free spirit. The plot is interesting and we get a feel for the places that Talia traveled to. I also loved the growth that this character went through. I had no expectations going into this book and I am happy to say that I look forward to reading the next book.

Hardgoing!
I really struggled reading this. I veered between hating it and finding it mildly amusing, but picking it up to read was a bit of a feat of willpower. I could have given up (and to be quite honest, I usually do) but I wanted to know what was going to happen to the characters. They were actually quite likeable. I just didn't like the style of writing. So sheer nosiness is the one and only reason why I finished this book!

A rollicking "Ocean's 11" style caper with the likable Lando at it's lead. What's not to like? Great characterization and matching art. This has been the most solid of the Star Wars mini series Marvel has launched since the Disney acquisition. (At least that I've read so far.) I understand it was trimmed down from a planned 8 or 10 issue arc to 5, and that's a same, because the finale does feel a bit truncated, but still well worth your time!

Visually fantastic
Mindbendingly awesome
Really loved this show!

This psychedelic mind Bender of a show always left me guessing, and almost reeling from the diversionary plot twists which added to the style in which the show projected.

The narrative was very strong and precise, yet still devoid of any cliché or predictability.

If you haven't seen it and want a comic book themed show that's way off left field... This is for you 😉

Those of you that love sci-fi reading either know of or should be familiar with Harry Harrison's "Stainless Steel Rat" series.
It's a futuristic Robin Hood style story with the action and intrigue of James Bond with the moral flexibility of Han Solo.
It's amazing that this has never made it to the big screen, seeing as how it has most genres covered: action, mystery, thriller, romance, science, technology, fantasy, sci-fi, politics and family.

It's easy reading, go enjoy the trip.

Thanks for reminding me of that series. I enjoyed it, too. May be time for a reread.
