People often see the title of the show and want to frown, because the original movie is now a classic. However, the producers - Jeremy Slater and Sean Crouch never positioned it as a remake. The 1973 movie is also adapted by William Peter Blatty from his 1971 novel.
In the show we follow in the footsteps of Father Marcus Keane (Ben Daniels) and Father Tomas Ortega (Alfonso Herrera) as they discover and fight old and new evil.
The dynamic between the two main characters is crafted well by the writers, and highlighted by the talent of both Daniels and Herrera. These actors work well together on and off screen, and it translates into the roles.
The cinematography brings the viewers an almost old-fashioned horror with a flavour of the original movie. The connections are slowly revealed, and the first season takes an interesting turn. The main and supporting actors do a good job of creating an atmosphere of desperation and fear. The show deals with topics other network tv shows try to avoid when possible. Slater and Crouch don't make a gimmick out of it, but treat it as seriously as they can.

A tale of ice and fire
As a fan of the MK Franchise and seeing almost all tv/movie take on it I was both hyped and in fear of what may come of this.
Although it's not the best MK adaption available it's also not the worst (see MK conquest Imco) the character looks are almost spot on (Liu Kang wasn't quite right imo) and the plot seemed to have duped me (I was led to believe that scorpion & sub zero were the central characters, shame)
But for all the bad there is the good-
The fight sequences are spectacular, yes there may been random videogame references thrown in but concidering there during a fight scene and how it goes down... I there actually quite well placed (Kudos đ).
The visual effects are beautiful, although their not there the whole time Scorpion and sub zero are hands down the best characters in the movie perfectly portrayed with Sonia blade in at a solid 3rd.
Main character Cole young seems to be just a plot filler, but the movie itself is not to be missed.

Unnecessary sequel
Summer of 1999.
Pre Millennium.
Just at the start of our current high-tech always-on society.
And The Matrix was released, becoming hugely influential in the process and popularising the concept of 'bullet time'.
Both the sequels (Reloaded and Revolutions) were released during 'the year of the Matrix' in 2003, doubling down on the philosophical ponderings of the first movie (in particular, during Reloaded, with the whole still-to-this-day confusing Architect scenes), with Revolutions also seemingly leaving the trilogy with nowhere to go.
Until nearly 20 years later, when one of the two Wachowski siblings decided to resurrect both Neo and Trinity in this.
I's very much a film of two halves, with the first half in particular hugely self-referential (lots of nods and winks to the audience, and even clips from the earlier films shown on TV screens within the movie), while the second half settles down more into your standard action fare.
Whilst enjoyable enough, it lacks anything to match the sheer pizzaz of the first movie, or even the Freeway chase/burly brawl/chateau fight from the second or the Neo Vs Smith showdown in the third.

A fun sitcom created by and starring Adam Green (Hatchet), with co-star Joe Lynch (Wrong Turn 2). This fun series based on 2 wannabe film makers desperately trying to get there movie made while dealing with everyday life. Many surreal and interesting moments (many of which involve Oderus Urungus from the band GWAR or Dee Snider from Twisted Sister) and a mass of guest stars from the horror genre, however I must point out that you donât have to be a horror fan to enjoy this show!!!

I was a little wary at first this was going to be too 'teen' for me. Once a chapter in I was hooked and could not put it down (read within a day) This plot was very interesting, easily flowed. The characters were well rounded and likeable. Especially the character Nate.
As a big fan of 80s movies, This did pretty much read as a modern, darker version of The breakfast Club. If that was the intent it was done well. By the end of the book I didn't want it to end. It is highly adaptable for a tv series or movie and I would love to see one.

Oustanding
I saw this film 3D at the cinema and I was blown away. It was so surreal and utterly transporting. Even now years later I still love to watch it and am eagerly looking forward to the next one.
This is the kind of movie that does best on a large screen with decent sound projection else it loses some of its magic, (I have small tv in the lounge) despite that I loved the concept of the film and the landscapes were amazing.
