I don't want this series to end!
Independent reviewer for Archaeolibrarian, I was gifted my copy of this book.

This is book 8 in the series, the last one currently available, but for THIS book, you don't NEED to have read the other 7 books, it's far more a stand alone than the others. BUT you SHOULD read them, to get the full picture of what Elliot has been watching happen in Kiss of Leather.

I have been equally looking forward to this book, as much as I have been dreading it. Because THIS is the book that I really REALLY wanted to read, and because this is the last book. After reading the other 7 in a short space of time, I hung onto this one, for as long as I possibly could!

Master Lucas won Tai at the auction, and they've had a good run. They both know that this might not last, not least because Master Lucas does not bottom or sub, and Tai is a switch. But also because Master Lucas needs a TPE sub, and Tai is so not into that! Adding a third to their relationship might be the answer, and Tai knows just the boy.

And Elliot is just the sweetest boy! A sweet young man who just wants to help. A sweet young man who has been majorly crushing on Tai, and Master Lucas to a point, since he started at Kiss of Leather. A sweet young man who makes a dreadful decision that requires help from Master Lucas and Tai and they come through brilliantly!

I loved this , immensely!

Elliot is such a sweetheart; Master Lucas, such a Dom and Tai fits somewhere between the two. Tai isn't bratty like Marshall (book 3) he just isn't totally subby. He and Master Lucas teach Elliot all the things he wanted to know, but never had anyone to do them with. They make it clear, right from the start, that this is not a once in a while thing, this is a permanent arrangement for as long as they all want it.

It's glorious watching Elliot come into his own, both as sub for Masters Lucas and Tai, but also at the club, behind the bar and in the kitchen. His "hobby" for food and drink gives him a great deal of confidence.

Not as emotionally wrecking as some of the other books, nor did I find it as explicit. What I did find, though, is it is a beautifully written tale of 3 men finding what and who is right for them: each other.

If this really is the end?? It's a very fitting end.

Virselis nelabai prasmatnus, bet istorija labai itraukianti. Du broliai patenka i oro baliona, kuris nubloskiamas uz tukstancio myliu. Istorija pasakoja kaip jie gyvena salcio sukaustytoje zemeje. Man si dalis neitiketinai patiko, ji nupasakoja ka mato ir jaucia broliai atsidure vieni patys nepazistamoje vietoveje. Antroji dalis pasakoja ju istorija, grenlandijos gyvenvieteje. :)

"I kinda wanna go to Jet Li again, which is kinda not right — we should probably do some Jackie Chan, right? Drunken Master, Drunken Master II, maybe? I don’t know, I just wanted to do a costume one, you know — like Tai Chi Master. There’s something really beautiful about that one, the scope. Sometimes the scope doesn’t have power to it. This one does. I’m gonna put that one in here as a “highly recommend.”"

Si pjese, nebuvo vienas is lengviausiu kuriniu. Tai yra meiles istorija, kupina dramos ir patriotiskumo. Si pjese buvo rasyta pirmojo pasaulinio karo metais, siekiant Lietuvos nepriklausomybes. Si istorija nera is lengvuju, nes ji palieka labai nemazai vietos interpretacijoms ir apmastymams. Sis kurinys isleistas originalia, senoviska lietuviu kalba, kuri gali buti kai kam sudetinga, bet as greiatai pagavau nuansus. Sis kurinys pilnas emociju, isdavysciu, romantiskos meiles ir isminties. Virselis ne labai israiskingas ir patrauklus, bet si knyga slepia neapsakoma istorija, kuria turetu skaityti kiekvienas Lietuvis.

Loved that Shifting was a back drop!
Independent reviewer for Archaeolibrarian, I was gifted my copy of this book.

I liked this, a lot. It's a very different sort of shifter book and that its unicorns made it all the more special.

I can't stretch to 5 stars for a couple of reasons.

Its a LONG book, some 500+ pages. It does, however, even with all those pages, NOT say a lot!

I still have no idea what being an AGENT means, what that roll entails. Gates doesn't seem to like being an Agent much! Clearly it has some negative connotations, but those are explained when Tai tells gates about his experience with other Agents.

Something happened in Gates' work world, then there was the destruction of the Haven and I wasn't sure, STILL am not sure, whether these two events were one and the same! The implication, or at least I got an implication, that they were, but that point was never fully made clear.

I will always say, I don't like the massive info dumps you get when entering a new world. I like little and often. However, here? You are thrown in headfirst into the deep end, and it takes a time to be able to swim to the surface, and breathe!

It says at the back of the book that this is a spin off from another series by this author. One I have NOT read. I wonder it reading those would have given me a bit of a life raft before reading this one.

What I did like, nay, what I LOVED was the chemistry between Gates and Tai. It jumps off the page at every turn, and burns hot and bright right through the book. It's clear, right from the start, for both men, that this was something different to what had gone before. There was an air about it that scared them both, and it was great watching them battle with themselves, to work it all out.

AND!! I loved that shifting, turning, takes a massive back drop to this book, rather than being front and centre. Both men do turn at some point, but Gates only twice and Tai just the once.

So, I liked it, but found it a bit too long.
